Middle name for Annabelle

Annabelle is one of our top choices for a girl. But we are struggling with a middle name. We have a short, one syllable surname. What about...

Annabelle Rose
Annabelle Emily

Any other ideas? Thank you Smile

Annabelle Emelia Smith (it rolls over the tongue with the one syllable surname!)

I think the 2 e's with Annabelle to Emily is a bit too much so of those two I'd pick Rose.
Annabelle Clare
Annabelle Grace
Annabelle Hope
Annabelle Faith
Annabelle Jean
Annabelle Jane
Annabelle Mary
Annabelle Niamh
Annabelle Maeve
Annabelle Sophia
Annabelle Louise

I think Annabel Emily is a bit fussy, but I think you also want to avoid the overused filler middle names Rose, Grace, May and Eve

Annabelle is pretty but quite flowery so maybe something classic and 2 syllable to bridge to the single syllable surname, also think you want something soft to contrast with the slightly sharp Anna sound - eg -

Annabelle Frances
Annabelle Katherine
Annabelle Mary
Annabelle Beatrice
Annabelle Lucy
Annabelle Edith

What about a more unusual name? Something like Cassia, Scarlett, Summer or a name with a family meaning, relating to a place you’ve lived in or where you honeymooned (Possibly not Bognor or Minehead).

mibbelucieachwell · 29/12/2021 09:26

Annabelle Alice
Annabelle Violet

Rose goes better, but is bland as a filler middle name. Emily is too much of a mouthful. Annabelle is a flouncy spelling. Annabel is the normal classic spelling. I’d go for something simple if you choose Annabelle, like Jane. You’ve got more leeway with the classic Annabel.

Annabelle Pearl
Annabelle Eve

Something shorter and less frilly- some good suggestions upthread. I particularly like Jean.

Theoldwoman · 29/12/2021 10:29

I prefer Annabel spelling.

Annabel Bridget
Annabel Charlotte
Annabel Laura
Annabel Kate
Annabel Clare
Annabel Francesca

finallychangedmyusername · 29/12/2021 10:32

I much prefer the less frilly Annabel and like a "no-nonsense middle".

Short options:

Annabel Kate
Annabel Ruth
Annabel Zoe
Annabel Mary
Annabel Eve
Annabel Clara
Annabel Gwen
Annabel Rosa
Annabel Zara
Annabel Tess

Longer options:
Annabel Claudia
Annabel Clementine
Annabel Gwendolen
Annabel Saskia
Annabel Rosalind
Annabel Margaret
Annabel Christina

Joy
Maeve
Ruth

Prefer spelling of Annabel

UserBot99 · 29/12/2021 10:33

Agree Annabel Emily is too soft.
Annabel Jemma sounds better.
Annabel Martha

BigBenji · 29/12/2021 10:35

Annabel Josie
Annabel Mary
Annabel Esme
Annabel Nina
Annabel Kate

BlowDryRat · 29/12/2021 10:42

Any particular reason for using the 'le' ending? It's a bit frilly.

How about:

Annabelle Meredith
Annabelle Mary
Annabelle Robin
Annabelle Rosemary

CambsAlways · 29/12/2021 10:45

Annabelle Rose Annabelle Lea , Annabelle Eve,

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/12/2021 10:58

I prefer Emily to Rose, but I don't like the flow of Annabelle Emily. Annabelle Rose just rolls off the tongue.
Although I do like PPs suggestion Annabelle Emelia

Other suggestions.
Annabelle Mary
Annabelle Sofia
Annabelle Florence
Annabelle Josephine
Annabelle Louise
Annabelle Scarlett

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 29/12/2021 11:07

Rose is an overly used filler of a middle name, every girl has it.

Kate
Joy
Katrina
Claire
Emma

Flumo · 29/12/2021 11:14

Rose 🥰

Ellmau · 29/12/2021 11:42

I think a two syllable mn works best with a one syllable surname and longer first name.

What about Rosa rather then Rose?

Or:
Chloe
Charlotte

MintyGreenDream · 29/12/2021 12:13

Grace

mediciempire · 29/12/2021 12:15

Both are quite nice but Rose is a bit boring so I'd choose Annabelle Emily from the two options. If I could choose myself, I'd do Annabelle Jane, Annabelle Lily or Annabelle Florence.

FlowerPower3110 · 29/12/2021 17:08
