Bronwyn?

Opinions on Bronwyn, or Bronwen? Although we don't have any Welsh connections, I really like the name!

Do you think it's a problem with DS1 name ending with similar sound - although 1 syllable- for example Glenn (not his actual name) and Bronwyn ?

Any other suggestions of girls' names I might like?

I love Bronwen for a girl. Unfortunately was vetoed by DP

The traditional welsh spelling is bronwen. names ending wyn tend to be male in Welsh. The Americans seem to prefer bronwyn though.
Maybe Bronte? Or should it be spelt Brontë?

Not a favourite but I don't dislike it! I prefer the spelling Bronwen.

Love this name - slightly prefer Bronwyn! Very pretty name choice!

I like it! I'm Welsh and think Bronwen is the more popular spelling. Also like Branwen.

Ah thank you @SweetBabyCheeses99! I do prefer the look of Bronwyn but would probably go with Bronwen then. Hmm I think I quite like Bronte/ë, but not sure ...

@tiredanddangerous I do like Branwen too, but have considered Bram for a boy if we have another one!

I used to like it until a relative married a Bronwyn. She'd fight anything that looks at her, now I just associate the name with her.

Yes Bronwen is the traditional spelling but I live in wales and have seen bronwyn a lot. Maybe because people know it's a girls name anyway maybe.

I used to care for a man who had the middle name bramwell and I loved it!!

It's nice. It doesn't matter if you're not Welsh, just if you like the name.

I know a lovely Bronwen, she's not Welsh and it really suits her.

I'd definitely choose -wen for a girl's name.

Bronwen (this traditional spelling is better imo) is nice enough, if perhaps slightly dated (or at least the two I know are in their 50's/60's, both English but no idea if they have Welsh heritage). I love Bram for a boy too and don't dislike Bramwell either (although I prefer the simplicity and international vibe of Bram). I also like Bryony/Briony - lovely nature vibes.

Really don't see it matters if DS name ends in an "en" sound too - loads of people have more than 1 child whose names end in more popular "ey/ie" or "ah" sounds.

For "B" names I also like Beatrice, Belinda (but realise that is probably even more dated than Bronwen), Blythe and Bronte plus Barnaby, Benedict and Bennet for boys (but weirdly less keen on Barney or Benjamin).

Not so keen, I always read Bronwyn as Browny. I slightly prefer Branwen. What is it you like about the name?
