I’m having a little girl next week!!! And she still doesn’t have a 100% name.

What names would you use?

Eloise. Beautiful but too simiar to DN's name, so didn't get to use it.

Autumn Sky
Sage
Savannah
Esme
Louisa
Mary Jane

Esme wouldn't have worked with the last name. None of my DDs quite looked like a Louisa or a Mary Jane.

DH wasn't into nature names ☹️

@EmmaOvary - really interesting reply, thank you. I still think your name is so gorgeous but I suspect if I have a DD I'll wimp out and possibly go for something shorter/simpler like Cassia instead Blush - just in case she's a shy child and hates being asked about her name!

EmmaOvary · 13/11/2021 23:41

@IamnotwhouthinkIam Cassia is so pretty! I love plant and floral names, I think that is a type of tree.

Luna or Stella
or Mo which wouldn't be short for anything, but it might be an annoying name to have if people often asked what it was short for.

Elizabeth or Victoria

@EmmaOvary, I'm glad someone else likes Cassia. I love that it's a floral/nature name too (a tree with yellow or sometimes pink blossoms I think!) and but it's also apparently an Ancient Roman women's name from the Cassii clan, so also fits in with my general style of favourite classical names (Claudia, Antonia, Gaia, Theia...Cassiopeia Smile) .

I can't get my head round the obsession with having to know the sex of a baby pre birth. I had to fight tooth and nail with the midwives who were busting a gut to tell me. It takes something very special away
