My daughter is 2 weeks old and we are registering her name today. The names we have chosen are quite familiar since I'm french and my dh is Finnish/Welsh. We love them all! Impossible to choose but releaved she will soon have a name

Our finalists:
Lily
Elsi (without the e, the Finnish/Welsh spelling)
Freya
Vivienne (nn Vivi)
Ida (pronounced Ee-da)

Whats your fav?

Look at the baby and see what suits her best.

bloominglovelyorange · 25/09/2021 08:44

Elsi

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 25/09/2021 08:49

Vivienne!! The others don't come close.

LynetteScavo · 25/09/2021 08:56

Surly one name suits her more?

Lily is so popular I would probably not use it.

Elsi is lovely. Really lovely.

People will say Igh-da, so she might be faced with a lifetime of correcting people.

Palavah · 25/09/2021 09:35

Elsi

M0rT · 25/09/2021 09:41

I know a little Elsie who is a sparky, funny, strong girl.
So to me that name has very positive connotations, but they are all lovely names so you can't go wrong really.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 25/09/2021 09:43

Vivienne

ChocolateRiver · 25/09/2021 09:44

Vivi is absolutely beautiful, love it. I wouldn’t go for Ida because people constantly mispronounce it. The others are nice, but popular.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 25/09/2021 09:44

I live Vivienne

inigomontoyahwillcox · 25/09/2021 09:46

Vivienne definitely.

Elsi(e) is pretty ubiquitous these days, as is Freya and Lily. Ida's nice.

SirSamuelVimes · 25/09/2021 09:47

Elsi, I think that's lovely

MotherOfKitten · 25/09/2021 09:47

I would not go for Lily as it's v popular or Ida as it would not be pronounced the way you want it in the uk.

Both nice names though!

Love your other 3 names though! If I had to pick it would be Elsi or Vivienne.

Frazzled2207 · 25/09/2021 09:50

I like them all but speaking from the perspective of someone with a Welsh name in England which is always mispronounced or misspelled or often both , I’d go for the safe and pretty Freya. (Lily is nice but extraordinarily common atm)

romdowa · 25/09/2021 09:57

Vivienne or Freya would be my pick but I'm leaning towards vivienne more.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 25/09/2021 10:00

I love Vivienne

TrueRefuge · 25/09/2021 10:02

Freya!

BlakeDreary · 25/09/2021 10:02

I live Vivienne but then I also called my rabbit that with the nickname Vivi.

Lily is sooo overused.

Elsie is lovely. It's classic and strong. That would be my preference

itssquidstella · 25/09/2021 10:05

I love Vivienne

Silkiescatz · 25/09/2021 10:10

Vivienne is my favourite, love Lily as well but its very popular. After that Elsi but it makes me think of Elsa, the disney princess.

disco123 · 25/09/2021 10:13

Freya

Gorgeous name

Blueroses99 · 25/09/2021 10:16

I like all the names but agree that Ida will be pronounce Eye-da in the UK. But do you have to decide now? I thought it was 6 weeks to register which might give you more time to see which name fits your DD.

DebbieHarrysCheekbones · 25/09/2021 10:17

Vivienne

Really lovely name
Elsi will spend her life correcting people I suspect

Vivienne is the only name that goes with Ida as a middle name if you’re a set on it I think

fuzzymoomin · 25/09/2021 10:18

French/Finnish/Welsh, what a lovely combination of influences!
Freya is such a beautiful name! I would choose Freya Ida.

Chilldonaldchill · 25/09/2021 10:19

I like them.
I wouldn't pick Ida because the pronunciation will always be wrong in the UK (obviously not when people know her but she will meet a lot of people in her life and it would get annoying) or Lily just because I prefer the others.
Elsi or Vivienne are great.

HelplessAndLost · 25/09/2021 10:21

Love Elsi. Elsi Viviennne.
