Cameron or Sebastian - which do you prefer?

I don't think wet means middle class at all.

I love most 'middle class' or 'classy' or 'posh' names. But I find Sebastian oily and wet sounding. Perhaps it's the similarity with sebaceous?

TatianaBis · 21/09/2021 12:16

Well if not in this instance it generally does on here.

I don’t even remotely link it to sebaceous.

Augusta1 · 21/09/2021 16:00

I said it was a wet name. A wet name isn’t middle class. It’s a name that suit’s some one who’s timid, with a limp handshake, nothing to say for themselves and no endearing qualities.

sorryforswearing · 21/09/2021 16:05

Cameron . Mainly because I’ve always liked Cam. I don’t like Sebastian.

GunsNShips · 21/09/2021 16:21

Cameron IMO!!

I’m just surprised we haven’t had that one person who always suggest a completely different name!

SleepEatPoopRepeat · 21/09/2021 16:33

Thanks guys leaning towards Cameron. @GunsNShips maybe I should throw in the third name we were thinking of which was Theodore (Theo or Teddy) but thinking it’s become way too popular.

Exactly what I think of with Sebastian and don’t understand it’s popularity at all. It feels wet and snivelling - quite lispy too. Nickname of Sebby also makes me cringe. Sounds like bastard too.

Cameron feels more versatile and cool.

FleetwoodRaincoat · 26/09/2021 09:34

I think they're both awful, sorry. Cameron makes me think of David Cameron and Sebastian always seems like a weak name to me.

Blubells · 26/09/2021 09:40

I agree - Sebastian sounds so oily (sebaceous) and neither Seb/Sebbie or Basty are nice nicknames unfortunately.

I much prefer Cameron.

Or how about Reuben, Quentin or Nathan?

GreyGoose1980 · 26/09/2021 09:43

Cameron. I also like Callum.

RuthW · 26/09/2021 11:44

Sebastian is miles nicer.

Ellmau · 26/09/2021 11:55

Sebastian by far.

PlainJane1000 · 26/09/2021 20:15

My DS is Sebastian and I can't count the number of times we have introduced him and the response has been, "such a strong name". To me that Sebastian can be wet but Cammy is cool shows how subjective names really are. I'd say see which name you get a stronger pull to when you look at him, both names are solid, people know how to spell them and they have nn options.

RobertaFirmino · 27/09/2021 05:04

Bash? Good god, no - have you never heard the phrase 'bash one out'?

Peach01 · 28/09/2021 00:45

Cameron definitely.

kieronsmum · 28/09/2021 05:57
