Am I the only one who thinks this name is stupid?

So, I just met a family who named their daughter Isla-Skye. Which literally sounds like Isle of Skye when you say it out loud. Am I the only one who thinks it's so odd to give that name to a baby? Or did it just catch me off guard?

Also, they were in Florida but the Dad sounded English or Australian...

I knew of someone called Jasmine Tee. I thought that was a really lovely name.

I don't know anyone with an odd name. I'm so disappointed because some of these are crackers.

I would think it's just a name...Isla Skye

There was a girl in my reception class called Holly Wood. Now, there’s no way her parents didn’t know what they were doing! She was expelled within the first year and sent away to a special school (this wouldn’t happen like that today, I don’t recall her doing anything particularly awful), poor kid she had a reputation for having a stupid name and being the “naughty kid” all by the age of 5!

Re Holly Wood I only very recently was watching something which had the Hollywood sign on and it struck me fit the first time ever that it meant Holly wood. I want to see the wood of Holly in studio city or wherever.
Duh ! I frequently have these insights decades later. My dp despairs of me when I mention them.

Maybe Holly would marry Mr Land and double barrel it, thus completing the original sign...

Oh kitten yes ! The wedding would need to be in black and white.

I knew a Anette Curtain, a Holly Day and a Jade White.

I’m being a bit slow here I think but what’s wrong with jade white?
