Cute

MonsterMunchConnoisseur · 30/07/2021 17:23

I like it. It was on my list.

Bigtoejoe · 30/07/2021 17:25

Know a 1 Yr old called it, it really suits her (very pretty baby!). I don't think it sounds unusual in the same way it might have 20 years ago, it fits with the names of children today.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 30/07/2021 17:25

Love it and one I might have chosen for DD if I had thought about it!

Terrazzo · 30/07/2021 17:30

Perfect name! Sadly does not go with our surname. :( Also Hazel ?

Mseddy · 30/07/2021 17:32

It's the 3rd addition to our short list last min too. I'm 34 weeks and still can't decide! Our choices are Evelyn (worried is getting very popular) Heidi and Alma

3AndStopping · 30/07/2021 17:35

@Mseddy we have an Evelyn too! 🙂 we must have similar taste. Great response to Heidi so far though 👍🏼

One of my favourite names.

Bimblybomeyelash · 30/07/2021 17:38

Heidi is very cute. What about Sadie?

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2021 17:38

Sorry, I dislike it intensely. It's ridiculously twee and I think of it as quite a downmarket name.

It's a completely different style to Evelyn, which is classy and elegant. Heidi is neither of those things.

Orchidflower1 · 30/07/2021 17:43

Much much prefer Heidi to Evelyn.

Also how to you feel about names being shortened. Heidi is much less likely to be shortened whilst you can pretty much guarantee by the time she’s 5 you’ll have an Evie/ Eve / Evy.

Wow, I'd say the exact opposite! Funny how we all interpret names differently!

DoingItMyself · 30/07/2021 17:55

Heidi/Seeky.

PaolaDiLorenzo · 30/07/2021 17:58

I don't really like it, I used to live near one and she wasn't a very nice person. She ended up sleeping with another neighbours husband, which I know he was more to blame but she was horrible to his wife afterwards.
It's put me off the name but I'm sure some are lovely.

Chunkymenrock · 30/07/2021 18:02

A lovely name.

Soulstirring · 30/07/2021 18:04

I love it, I know both a nice and a horrid Heidi (not quite
Put me off), both in their 40’s and a 5 year old Heidi. It’s a timeless and classy name, not easily shortened and the ‘Heidi-hi’ associations have long passed.

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 18:06

Love it! Go for it op. Beautiful.

Reminds me of the prog when I was a girl!

It's a bit unusual
Everyone knows how to pronounce and spell it
Very nice sounding
Do it!

Notonthestairs · 30/07/2021 18:06

I only post on baby names threads when I love the name.
Love Heidi.

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 18:09

I think it may have been on our list. Our DDS have Germanic names as well. A lot of people have said what lovely names over the years :)

Angel2702 · 30/07/2021 18:40

I love it and wish I hadn’t wasted on a pet before we had kids.

Winwins · 30/07/2021 18:43

Lovely name.

Bigoldmachine · 30/07/2021 18:47

Clara is also lovely!

Cbeebiesrehab · 30/07/2021 23:03

Love Heidi! Also…before anyone else is rude about Evelyn I think OP is saying she already has a daughter called Evelyn. So I don’t think she’s looking for opinions on that name.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/07/2021 23:17

Not my taste, it sounds slightly cutesy to me. Prefer Clara.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/07/2021 23:20

Evelyn is lovely btw - similar style to me would be fellow vintage/retro names like Cora, Freda, Ada, Iris, Florence, Clara, Josephine, Lilian, Vivien etc
