We were curious to know what nicknames anyone had for the name Evie, yes I already know this is a short name that doesn't need to be any shorter but still interested to know :)

My daughters called Evie and it's not a nn - it's her full name. She has lots of nicknames but none related to her name.

We have a male version with Evan. He is often called everly-beverly-boo.
Also goes by Bips!
Mostly, his mates call him ‘Evan’.

Not saying you can't name your child a nickname - but asking for a nickname of a name that is already a nickname / derivative of a traditional name (lovely as it is) - you've already shortened it so why shorten it more?

My daughter is called Annabel, which is almost always shortened to Bel, which is affectionately lengthened to Belvedere, Belarus, Belford. Poor child.

Evie is a nickname for Eve as Susie is for Susan or Jeannie for Jean

Um, like Gracie is a nn for Grace.

Its already a nickname. But you can make up whatever one you like. Evelyn maybe. Or Stevie.

Not on MN. Here you write it in stone before the child is born. I agree with you. It's weird 'forcing' a nickname. My children have nicknames bestowed on them from various people in different parts of their lives.

Evie is a nickname isn’t it? You could shorten Evie to Eve or E I guess? Not much point though lol
