Which one and why? Also should Cassie or Cassandra be on the bc?

They are all slightly twee. I would use their long forms on the BC. Molly is the strongest stand-alone name.

TheRosariojewels · 16/07/2021 10:52

Cassandra mm Cassie

Rainbowqueeen · 16/07/2021 10:58

I really like them all.
What goes best with your surname?

peaceinourtime · 16/07/2021 11:11

I like Daisy and Molly but not Cassie/Cassandra.

Ginandplatonic · 16/07/2021 11:15

I love Daisy and Cassie (Cassandra on bc). Really dislike Molly, but couldn’t tell you why.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 16/07/2021 11:22

Cassie. The others are so common in the primary I work in.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 16/07/2021 11:23

But not cassandra it reminds most people of only fools and horses.Cassia is lovely though.

scottmichael · 16/07/2021 11:26

@Daisylookslost

Cassie is quite a nice name, don’t hear it a lot and I would imagine an intelligent, interesting and confident child called this! Cassandra full name on BC definitely as this is the proper name with meaning.

Daisy - middle name? Quite popular now I believe.

Molly - meh. Reminds me of the rhyme ‘Miss Molly had a dolly who was sick sick sick…’
Also the word ‘Mollycoddled’

So Cassandra aka Cassie all the way!

I thought it was Miss Polly. Blush

I love Molly and Daisy. Not Cassie. I think I'd go for Molly.

Spidey66 · 16/07/2021 11:30

Daisy, Molly and Cassie in that order from me.

Love the idea of Cassidy and Jaxon as siblings.....i got it straight away!Wink

Soubriquet · 16/07/2021 11:31

I have a Molly Grin

But I like Cassie and Daisy too….

Molly Daisy Jones?

Soubriquet · 16/07/2021 11:31

And yes it’s Miss Polly had a dolly

I used to sing Miss Molly cos of dd

viques · 16/07/2021 11:40

Not Daisy. Many years ago I babysat a Daisy who weed on my sofa. Put me off the name for life.

Cassandra if you think you can live with old people doing Frankie Howard impressions “woe, woe, and thrice woe” . It’s a good strong name though.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/07/2021 13:10

Cassie is nice - but preferably with the elegant Cassia or Cassandra on the birth certificate imo (to give her more options if she doesn't like nn style names when she's older). I love Cassiopeia too but that's a bit brave for most people!

Molly is okay, just a bit "blah" for me. Daisy unless it's a nn for Margaret, I find too cutesy sounding, sorry.

TatianaBis · 16/07/2021 13:12

Cassia is not elegant it’s just a kind of cinnamon bark.

Ceepeee · 16/07/2021 13:46

I am not fond of Daisy. I don't like the 'Daze' sound, makes it seem a bit ditzy to me.
Molly is ok, but I'm not a massive fan.
I think Cassie is your best option and Cassandra or Cassia as full name would be best but not essential. Disagree with PP - Cassia is not 'just a kind of cinnamon bark', it's an entire genus of plants, including some beautiful flowering trees. The bark is derived from one of the trees in the genus.

lilacmoon78 · 16/07/2021 14:01

what about Clarissa nn Cassie?

GreyhoundG1rl · 16/07/2021 14:08

Clarissa definitely sounds classy. It's lovely.

marmaladehound · 16/07/2021 14:11

Molly is probably my fav. I choose my names thinking of my kids as an adult. To me this is a lovely kids name but grows better than daisy and especially Cassie.

God, really? I always think of Molly as a little girl's name, really. Cassie for me transitions seamlessly into adulthood, and Daisy is a ridiculous name for a human in the first place. Good job were all different, eh? Grin
IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/07/2021 14:21

@TatianaBis

Cassia is not elegant it’s just a kind of cinnamon bark.
It's also the feminine form of the Roman mens name Cassius - like Julia is for Julius, Claudia for Claudius etc so logic dictates it's no less elegant than those classical choices.
CoalCraft · 16/07/2021 14:40

I love Cassandra with Cassie as a nn, and Molly is also pretty.

Not keen on Daisy makes me think of cows

marmaladehound · 16/07/2021 15:28

Greyhound girl

Lol! To me Cassie is a dogs name Wink

TatianaBis · 16/07/2021 16:46

@IamnotwhouthinkIam

Spurious, I think. Never met a female Cassia in latin literature.

The latin word Cassia refers to cinnamon.

GreyhoundG1rl · 16/07/2021 16:51

What does it matter?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/07/2021 21:04

@TatianaBis - I thought it was fairly obvious that it has the same classical origins as Cassius? It's practically the same name! For example (although I hate to bring him up as I'm not a fan, but he is very well educated Smile) Boris Johnson who studied classics at Oxford has a daughter named Cassia (as well as a Lara, presumably inspired by the Greek Myth rather than the more famous Russian variation).

However Cassia is also a well known variation spelling of Biblical Keziah too - as well as being the name of a type of cinnamon as you mentioned. I love a uncommon name that has lots of associations! Although it is apparently quite popular/well used in Brazil...
