Depends if it has a grave accent on the e or not.

If it does it's Inez, without it's Innes or Ynes.

Verbena87 · 27/06/2021 14:17

Eye nezz- no idea if that’s right though

TatianaBis · 27/06/2021 14:17

Y= I

cheeseislife8 · 27/06/2021 14:18

I'd have thought eee-nez personally

stuckinarutatwork · 27/06/2021 14:18

Inn-ess

NewLifeInTheSouth · 27/06/2021 14:19

Innez

powershowerforanhour · 27/06/2021 14:19

I've always thought it was Eye-Knees but have thankfully never had to say it out loud as could be making an absolute tit of myself, it might be completely different.

neroforte · 27/06/2021 14:20

ee-nez, but not said fast like you’re saying anais with an accent, more emphasis on the ‘ee’ part.

polkadotpjs · 27/06/2021 14:20

If German then it's Eeee-ness. Like penis. Think the Spanish might be more nez on the end

Smartiepants79 · 27/06/2021 14:21

Eye-mezzanine or I-nezz

Geamhradh · 27/06/2021 14:21

E like the letter, followed by nes. (As in Nessa from Gavin and Stacey.

RavenclawsRoar · 27/06/2021 14:21

Ee-nez. Never knew until I heard "Betty" by Taylor swift: 'you heard the rumours from Ines, you can't believe a word she says...' (those lines rhyme).

Smartiepants79 · 27/06/2021 14:21

Grin eye-nezz
Oh , autocorrect does not like that!

CrazyForStew · 27/06/2021 14:22

I know two, one Portuguese who pronounces it Inn-ish and one French who pronounces it Eee-ness.

Geamhradh · 27/06/2021 14:23

Clearly it's pronounced differently according to whether you're French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or German!Grin

I really like it as eye-nes/nez but don’t want to use a name and then fundamentally say it wrong!
I also have this problem with Eira-where I am from in South Wales we say eye-rah but all the posts telling me it’s Ay-rah and we say it wrong where we live has put me off.

IHeartKingThistle · 27/06/2021 14:27

Its Aye-ruh in west Wales. I've several friends who are named this or their Dc
AlwaysLatte · 27/06/2021 14:31

I have no idea but would guess at Innez.

rooarsome · 27/06/2021 14:35

This is my friend's name and she pronounces it in-nez. It's a tricky one though

TatianaBis · 27/06/2021 14:54

Didn't even consider 'eye' pronunciation.

It's a French/Spanish/Portuguese name - definitely EEnez/ss. French has a grave accent on the e, Spanish has an acute accent, Portuguese - a circumflex.

If you leave off the accents - you lose your moorings to that name - it could be anything. Innes as in guinness, Ines as in pines.

Can't really see the justification of Eyenez - that's grafting two languages together in one name.
