Bobbie, Rory or Teddie for a girl? Do you like?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Fivemoreminutes1 · 10/05/2021 17:44

Only as nicknames

Happycat1212 · 10/05/2021 17:46

Well I have a cat called bobby that’s female but no I wouldn’t use it on a girl child

AnonGlitterBomb · 10/05/2021 17:46

Only as nicknames

Bouch · 10/05/2021 17:47

I love boys names on girls. I like Frankie and Billie too but they are obviously more widely used than your options. I like Teddie and Rory the best from your list but all are good.
You will probably get a few comments about having “proper names” that you can shorten to your options but I think they are perfectly fine as they are

Blackopal · 10/05/2021 17:50

I know little girls named Teddy and Ronnie. I never really thought much of it, if you like it go for it.

WorkWorkAngelica · 10/05/2021 17:51

Not my cup of tea, no.

sarah13xx · 10/05/2021 18:59

Think the other two are fine but I don’t know if you could pull Rory off as a girls name. My future potential girls name is a boys name (but a very very rare one)

Palavah · 10/05/2021 19:03

Yes. Rory is a bit too Gilmore Girls for mw but I like George, Bobbie Teddie and Billie as diminutives

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 10/05/2021 19:55

As nicknames they are nice imo (for Robin/Roberta, Aurora and Edina/Theodora) - that way it is your DD's own choice whether she wants to be known by a more traditionally "masculine" name. Otherwise I'd personally stick to unisex names (if you don't like the sound of more "feminine" ones) - Robin, Rowan, Eden, Jamie etc.

TatianaBis · 10/05/2021 19:58

Rory/Aurora/Aurelia - like.

I know 2 Bobbies - one is Josephine and the other is Rosalind.

Too many Teddys.

DramaAlpaca · 10/05/2021 19:59

No. Not at all.

Rainbow321 · 10/05/2021 20:00

Bobby is a nn for Roberta.

Amdone123 · 10/05/2021 20:01

I dislike ( with a passion) these boys' names, but like them for girls.

Blake
Kyle
Reese
Ryan

Have got more, but mind's gone blank !

custardbear · 10/05/2021 20:02

Teddy yes, Bobby may become Booby by school kids
How about Cameron?

FluffMagnet · 10/05/2021 20:09

I was friends with a Bobbi and knew a Billie (so both were mid/late 80s born). Neither diminutives/nicknames. Can't say I'm a fan of traditionally male names for girls personally, or names that are normally nicknames for other names. However, a fan of longer names that families and eventually the owner can flex to suit themselves/situation (informal nn for home/close friends and more formal name for work)

Daydrambeliever · 10/05/2021 20:12

I nearly called my daughter Stevie but bottle it.

Onesnowynight · 10/05/2021 20:13

I like Blake and Blair for girls

Daydrambeliever · 10/05/2021 20:13

bottled

Amdone123 · 10/05/2021 20:28

I like Blair, too. Cameron is lovely for a girl ( and a boy )

GeorgieRose1234 · 10/05/2021 21:40

I love Blake and Cameron too! I definitely thinking something like Theodora with nn Teddy so that she has options when she grows up.

daisypond · 10/05/2021 21:53

No, not for me. If they’re short for longer names, such as Roberta, Aurora or Theodora, they’re fine.

Loli2020 · 10/05/2021 21:56

I have a Teddy (boy) but was using it as a girl or boy as we didn't know gender. Love it xx

embolass · 10/05/2021 22:02

Jamie
Charley
Camryn

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 10/05/2021 22:04

No. Would you want to be called a mans name as a woman?!

KnobJockey · 10/05/2021 22:08

Love them. I know of a female Rory and a Tyla, a friend had a Stevie last year, and s friend had Leni which I loved. Really like Blake and Cameron too, but would probably think the second was too far for me.
