Ciara is not pronounced see-ar-ah 😂😂😂

AlexaShutUp · 06/04/2021 01:34

I like the original pronunciation of Ciara, but I don't like your version at all.

So Amara, I guess? Though the proper pronunciation of Ciara would be much better.

kdanielle · 06/04/2021 01:34

How do you pronounce it is it Keer a ?

AlexaShutUp · 06/04/2021 01:35

Just to point out that, if you went with your unorthodox pronunciation, she would spend her whole life having to correct people.

kdanielle · 06/04/2021 01:35

I like the spelling of Ciara but if you pronounce it as Keer-ah I think it's pretty

GreyhoundG1rl · 06/04/2021 01:36

Yes. Why were you contemplating a name you didn't know how to pronounce.

kdanielle · 06/04/2021 01:36

I thought the name looked pretty but wasn't sure how to pronounce it.

That is how it's pronounced Confused
DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2021 01:37

If you are going to pronounce Ciara like that, then I vote for Amara.

Ciara is a beautiful Irish name pronounced KEER-ah. Your version is just wrong.

If you want that pronunciation the spelling Sierra is closer.

kdanielle · 06/04/2021 01:39

I like it the original Irish pronunciation. Wasn't sure how to pronounce it until now. I think it's so pretty. Thanks for helping me know how to pronounce it

OP posts:
AlexaShutUp · 06/04/2021 01:39

If you go with the original pronunciation, then I think Ciara is the nicer name.

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2021 01:40

Yes, I agree with @AlexaShutUp. Ciara is really lovely.

Bloodypunkrockers · 06/04/2021 01:42

Ciara is a lovely name

Amara sounds like a cheap perfume

Happycat1212 · 06/04/2021 01:48

Well the singer Ciara pronounces it See-air-rah so no need to make fun of the op some really rude comments! If I seen it I would have assumed it was see-air-ah

But it's completely wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️ Some muppet getting it wrong doesn't make it right.
GreyhoundG1rl · 06/04/2021 01:51

Or maybe she just can't spell.

Happycat1212 · 06/04/2021 01:51

Well if that’s where she’s heard the name then it’s not unreasonable for her to assume it’s pronounced that way, people can pronounce names how they want and you sound delightful referring to people as “muppets” 🙄

GreyhoundG1rl · 06/04/2021 01:53

I wasn't referring to op. It stands for the other one, though.

shescreamsforme · 06/04/2021 02:16

I'm a keer-ah the misspellings are annoying (as a kid I found the C spelling baffling), I vote Amara

Veronika13 · 06/04/2021 05:14

Clara just reminds me of the singer and makes me want to sing '1,2 step' 😂

Veronika13 · 06/04/2021 05:15

Ciara*

They really can’t without reinventing the basic rules of Irish-languages phonology.
Edenember · 06/04/2021 15:37

Amara

serin · 06/04/2021 23:41

Ciara is lovely.
If you are looking for a name with a "see" sound, how about Sienna?

GreyhoundG1rl · 06/04/2021 23:45

It's spelled with a C because it's an Irish name. There's no K in the Irish alphabet. Even without knowing this; it's hardly baffling?
