Dated, which is a shame really, as the sounds are nice. Today's Amelia is yesterday's Amanda.

Not that keen on Amanda because of the inevitable Mandy, although I have a Miranda and it's not that different really.

Love the name - beautiful meaning, plus every Amanda I've met in real life has been a lovely person.

I'm a mid-30s Amanda, and I never loved the name to be honest. I got a lot of “she’s a man, duh” when I was young.

I was Mandy when I was little and got to about 12 and decided I didn't like it, have been Amanda ever since. Though everywhere I've worked, after about a year some middle age man decides to try to nn me Mandy.

I'm am Amanda - I've always been Amy for short, never Mandy.

I'm a 66 year old Amanda, born 1954, I was called Mandy as a child but as I got older became Amanda.
I like it as It seems Everybody else from my generation were called Linda or Susan!

I don’t like it and yes makes me think of a man duh!

I am not keen on the name Mandy so that’s what would put me off.

The name itself is very classic and therefore I don’t think it’s ‘outdated’ it’s just currently not as popular as it used to be at some point in the past.

I was named after Mandy Miller, child star, deaf....

I can’t read it without saying ‘A…man…DUH!’ in Rachel Green’s voice.

Clearly controversial but I don’t think I mind the nickname Mandy..!
The whole name seems very dated generally but there are many, many worse names.

My name is Amanda and growing up I always wished it was Miranda.

I actually think it's a really lovely name if you can remove it from the 'came of age in the 80s' vibe. Dislike Mandy for that reason.
