Well I don't know if I'd like to be called Bluebell as a worn out mother of two under 5s in my late 30s!

Also it's the name of my son's favourite stuffed bunny toy so it's a no for me.

AntiHop · 15/02/2021 23:01

Sorry, I really wouldn't. Sounds like a cartoon character. How about Heather?

DenisetheMenace · 15/02/2021 23:01

It’s a pretty word but I don’t think I’d like it as an adult.

Beamur · 15/02/2021 23:02

I think Geri Halliwell called her daughter this.
Shortens to a couple of cool diminutives but I'm not keen myself, it's a bit clunky sounding.

littlemisslozza · 15/02/2021 23:03

No. Better as a pet's name imo.

bonbonours · 15/02/2021 23:03

I know a 9 year old Bluebelle and she is the least flowery girly girl ever, so it really doesn't suit her. Seems like her parents wanted/expected a different type of child....

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 15/02/2021 23:03

You've gone mad Grin

Rivergreen · 15/02/2021 23:04

Yeah, I'd echo pp. Cutesy for a toddler, but a 40yr old woman?!

SmidgenofaPigeon · 15/02/2021 23:05

God no it’s horrible and twee and really not fair to lump a child with.

partyatthepalace · 15/02/2021 23:05

You are a leeetle bit mad. Might be cute at 4, but when she’s 40 with 2 kids and a stressful job she won’t thank you.

Middle name though? Or Blue is actually more workable.

Sendingasurprise · 15/02/2021 23:05

Make it the middle name?

VenusClapTrap · 15/02/2021 23:05

I like it.

Runkle · 15/02/2021 23:08

Sorry way too cutesy. Sounds like a ragdoll cat.

ohhmus · 15/02/2021 23:08

Thank you for your honesty Grin I could make it a middle name, no idea what first name would go with it though

Flower names can be tricky for girls who aren't 'girly',especially if they're not commonly used . Bluebells are lovely flowers but I think I'd avoid as a name.

ChristOnAPeloton · 15/02/2021 23:12

Makes me think of Geri Halliwell- and I’m sure that’s not a look anyone willingly goes for.

Timpeall · 15/02/2021 23:15

I'd feel like a bit of a fanny if my name was Bluebell. Passable for a middle name.

TartanLassie · 15/02/2021 23:19

I love it! Blue for short!! Or Belle.

I never usually comment on a name threads, but just love this!

I know, I thought it would be cruel but it's so pretty Blush Maybe a more formal first name and Bluebell as a middle name

Lovely for a French bulldog, awful for a person. Sorry!

TartanLassie · 15/02/2021 23:25

I've never seen the point of middle names unless to honour a dead relative or the married person's maiden name. (Scottish thing).

Bluebell is wasted as a middle name! :)

TartanLassie · 15/02/2021 23:27

Nooooo @breatheslowandtrust

Bluebell the Bulldog! No no just no! :)

Wrong on so many levels!!

Now Bluebell Jones! That's better!

RyvitaBrevis · 15/02/2021 23:41

Will teenagers call her Blue Balls? Am I the first person to think of this? Blush

Sylvac · 16/02/2021 00:01

Its a traditional cows name -google bluebell and cow

I used to work with an adult who was actually called Tinkerbell. Not surprisingly she didn't tell anyone it was her name and used her middle name.

dottiedaisee · 16/02/2021 00:04

Olive Bluebell ..pretty name .
