Hi. Expecting first baby 😀 and found out we’re having a girl.

What do you think of Rita?
Any middle name suggestions?

Rita was my beautiful step aunt. I smile when I think about her so for me its a fab name. Only met 2 and both were amazing women

Rita is nice, also worth considering is Nita which I think can be short for Anita but its nice on its own.

Great name and fab links to the Beatles Lovely Rita, and Julie Walters Educating Rita, who named herself so for Rita Mae Brown.

I love Rita but all I can think of is Rita Sue and Bob too

mathanxiety · 25/10/2021 04:52

Lovely name. Well done.

I really like Rita! I don’t agree it sounds frumpy/old etc, in a modern context I think it sounds very cool!

Snowdropsandbluebells · 25/10/2021 14:07

I love it.

Rita Jane
Rita May
Rita Grace

Love Rita. International, universal, easy. Middle name... maybe Aurelia?

SilverOtter · 25/10/2021 14:14

My mums best friend is called Rita. She makes the best onion bhajis in the world😋 They are in their 70's.

I wouldn't choose it for my baby, but I've definitely heard worse!

When picking a baby name, there'll always be someone who doesn't like it, so if you really love Rita then go for itSmile

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/10/2021 14:14

Rita is gorgeous, very cool.

I'd go for something like Rita Imogen or Rita Evangeline

Jeschara · 27/10/2021 00:18

I dont like it. So many other lovely names.

TheCuntessOfMiddlesex · 27/10/2021 00:23

Rita is my 85 yr old Mothers name

Riva maybe? A bit softer

chaosrabbitland · 27/10/2021 00:25

@Awwlookatmybabyspider

Bottegabish "Sue"? And Bob, too. WinkGrin
god that was my first thought as well lol ,

I love Rita. It goes with overlooked 1940s/midcentury names like Kay, Dinah, Annette, Sally, Audrey - very simple and sweet.
