What do you think of Erin?

Any middle name suggestions would be very helpful too please. Nothing with an 'r' in though as our surname is very 'r' heavy.

There is an Erin in our family so I like the name, she is Erin Alice. An A name after the Erin flows nicely I think but lots of suggestions here

I'm not a fan I'm afraid. It's the sort of name that I expect to grow up to be the class bitch!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/01/2021 14:01

DS would've been Erin if he had been a girl. We went for Erin Daisy (DD's middle name is Alice, referencing PP).

I really don't like it, I think of it as a name for Americans who pretend to be Irish.

Fourdaystogo · 30/01/2021 14:16

I have a teenage Erin, I still think it's a lovely name - not unusual but not overused either. Her middle name's Rose.

Erin Leigh
Erin Faith

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 30/01/2021 14:18

Lovely! Although I'm biased because I have a younger cousin with the name and she is just a lovely person.

Dora26 · 30/01/2021 14:21

Sionnachrua - I am Irish and think just the same - a cheesey begorrah American yearningto be Irish name!

BabloHoney · 30/01/2021 14:23

I like Erin! For some reason I think it sounds nice with a 3 syllable middle name. So something like Erin Melissa or Erin Christina or Erin Joanna (those may well all be too 90s for you ☺️)

I know an Elin too, always thought that’s very pretty

WellityWellityWellity · 30/01/2021 14:23

Not keen. It seems a bit nothingy and a bit harsh.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 30/01/2021 15:11

I like it. I know one in her 30s and one age 2. I think it has got a lot more popular in the last fews years though.

ParkheadParadise · 30/01/2021 15:12

I like it
I have a niece called Erin.

daisypond · 30/01/2021 16:02

Only if you have Irish links. Absolutely not otherwise. It’s fine as a name.

Spacecudet · 30/01/2021 16:09

I have a niece called Erin. I think it's a lovely name. Erin Hope

SeanChailleach · 30/01/2021 16:49

It's a lovely name. All the Erin's I know are very likeable people, so I tend to think their parents must be really nice and kind.

I’m really not keen but I think I’m very much in the minority. Go for it if you love it.

Firebird83 · 30/01/2021 17:36

I don’t like it.

Glitterinthegrey · 30/01/2021 17:40

I have one - but we spelled it Aeryn. Her middle name is Alice.

Kote · 30/01/2021 17:41

Love it

eggandonion · 30/01/2021 17:44

If you are in Northern Ireland, she will be called Wee Urn. (Say it in a Jimmy Nesbitt voice). In the Republic, my ds has a friend called Erin who is universally known as Hot Cup.
If you have no Irish connection, it's a fine name.

daisypond · 30/01/2021 17:56

All the young Erins I know have at least one Irish parent, but they all live in England.
