Also... would a colleague naming their child your top name during your pregnancy make you change your option or would you keep it?

I don’t think a colleague would make me change my mind but someone closer would - my top choice was always Sophia but a family member named their daughter Sofia and we’re close enough that it would be weird for me to use it too.

If I had my heart set on a name I would still use it regardless of whether a colleague has used it, however I think it would bother me for a bit but in the long run if its the name I loved then that's more important

It would annoy me about the work colleague, but I'd still use the name since I don't socialise with any work colleagues outside of work so wouldn't realistically have any impact.

No it wouldn’t bother me, it’s only a colleague. Wouldn’t go for the same baby name as my sister or best friend but I wouldn’t be bothered about a colleague.
