Noah, Jacob and ??

I currently have 2 boys Noah and Jacob and now expecting a girl.
I found boys names so easy but girls names are so hard.
I prefer names that are less likely to be shortened. So far we've been okay with Noah and Jacob.
Popularity isn't a great concern, if we love a name we will use regardless.

Many years ago before having children I always said I wanted Noah and Amelia. But I'm not sure I completely love it.

Some other names I like are:
Juliet
Lyra (recently heard, what are your opinions on this?)
Eliana (again recently heard)
Rosie (my sons love Rosie because of a baby they know called Rosie, but I know someone with this name and I'm worried she'll think baby is names after her)

I'm put off by associations for alot of names due to the job I do! Which makes it even harder. Any help would be greatly recieved.

Just to add, I don't really like any biblical girls names or have associations with the names. As I'm thinking people might suggest carrying on the biblical theme.

I really like Juliet! I have a Noah and if our second had been a girl we liked Isabella, Celeste and Penelope.

LittleTiger007 · 08/01/2021 11:33

Noah and Jacob are great names. Possible biblical girls names that you might not have considered:
Eden, Bethany, Shiloh,
Alternatively: Lyra is nice, Laila/Layla, Clementine (Clemmie), Amelie.

I think it should be Biblical or it will seem odd-one-outish.

So Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Abigail, Candace, Hannah, Eve, Mary.

I am not sure why you are against biblical names, in reality they are just names which have stood the test of time and happen to be in the Bible. Many of them are beautiful, classic names . You don’t have to go full Old Testament with Bathsheba and Delilah, but names such as Naomi, Ruth, Rachel, Rebecca, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth are lovely and fit in well with the traditional feel of your other children’s names.

If you don’t fancy the Bible why not go Shakespearean, obviously not Lady if your surname is Macbeth Grin but Alice, Cordelia, Beatrice, Juliet, Celia, Cressida,Portia, Rosalind are pretty , classic names too.

Rebecca
Abigail
Emily
Emilia
Miriam
Rosa
Rachel

@ItsALovelyDayToday Unfortunately I have negative associations with some of those names or just dislike them. Hence my post above.

Rosalind or Rosa if you like Rosie?

Lyra is nice but sounds quite harsh with my regional accent.

Lucia
Seren
Iris

@viques I'm not against biblical names! I love alot of biblical boys names. Its just from the job I do I have met alot of people and have negative associates with most biblical girls names or I just dislike them

watermelonsugar99 · 08/01/2021 12:11

Lydia or Elle?

NorbertMeubles · 08/01/2021 12:11

Eve is perfect

Kanaloa · 08/01/2021 12:13

Lyra, Eliana & Juliet are lovely. I possibly wouldn’t choose Juliet since you already have Jacob. They aren’t too similar but I don’t like matching initials. I think Lyra is my favourite - there is an association with the Phillip Pullman novels though, especially now the tv show is out as well. I like the books so it just depends if that would bother you.

@Anon0987654321

Emily? I love the name Emily but my cousin has it🤣

Noah, Jacob and

Sophie
Emily
Darcey (thats in our top two)

baumwolle · 08/01/2021 12:16

Lydia, Phoebe, Chloe (technically all biblical but I don't think they really have strong connotations so you might still like them)

Other suggestions: Ruby, Thea, Lily, Carla, Leonie

SendHelp30 · 08/01/2021 12:29

@Anon0987654321 do you like any of the ones suggested?

awwkkwwaard · 08/01/2021 12:32

Kerin. Biblical.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/01/2021 12:33

As Noah and Jacob are quite popular, I think you should go for a similarly popular name - so Juliet, Lyra and Eliana don't really work for that (although I do love Juliet, Lyra is a bit trendy and Eliana will be another Ellie). I think Rose (nn Rosie) of your choices would fit well.

Also if you stick with one or 2 syllables (like your sons), then I think names are slightly less likely to be shortened. It would be nice imo to go with a different sounding ending to Noah and Jacob as well so:

Sophie - my fave with your sons names
Lily
Grace
Alice
Esme
Erin
Iris
Lucy
Chloe
Zoe
Phoebe
