Astrid is so beautiful

PrivateParty · 03/01/2021 20:27

Astrid seems so harsh to me. Maybe I'm linking it to asteroid?

Hunt123 · 03/01/2021 21:47

Sienna would be my fave ! Next it would be Zara

crabette · 03/01/2021 22:08

I agree with @Growingyou - though seems we are minority! I just don't love the sound of Astrid, I think it is quite a harsh sounding name for a girl... though it probably does suit your (albeit distant!) scandi heritage, and it is the least popular of your options, if popularity matters a lot to you.

(For what it's worth, I was "Crabette B" through school as I had a popular name - a bit annoying sometimes but it didn't ruin my life! And it's much less of a big deal as an adult, as peers are no longer all from the same year and names at work are diluted by popular names of other age groups. And I now quite like the sound of Crabette.)

As such, I'd go for Sienna, Georgia, or Zara, as to me they are nicer sounding names - though there are far worse names than Astrid if you do go for that!

For a similar one though, bizarrely I actually also really like Enid?

Blulights · 03/01/2021 22:21

Sienna or Astrid
I like Georgia too
Zara is way too harsh

Ty36 · 03/01/2021 22:30

Definitely Zara first choice, then Sienna but i’m not keen on the other two.

Thank you! I’m less worried about popular, but I don’t want an ‘in vogue’ name that will date really easily - bit worried about Sienna on that front!

Zara or Astrid. Don’t like Sienna or Georgia.

Sienna dates back to roman times, I'd say it's dated very well Smile

Baileysoncereal · 05/01/2021 00:27

I love Astrid sooooo much
DH vetoed it but it was my first choice

DramaAlpaca · 05/01/2021 00:32

I like Zara best, followed by Sienna.

Astrid I'm not mad about. I detest Georgia.

Sarahandduck18 · 05/01/2021 01:10

Astrid

Mally2020 · 05/01/2021 01:47

Georgia
Zara
Astrid
Sienna
the top 3 are nice but I am personally not so keen on sienna
also I now think of astrid from truth seekers starring nick frost

Waitingforamate · 05/01/2021 07:11

I love the name Astrid but I always think of Michael Scott and Astird...and I am in the UK. Sadly it would put me off, not because of strangers thinking it but because of me hearing it every time.

Leo674 · 05/01/2021 11:33

I love Zara! Also considering it but I'm a big fan of the shop and worried that I'll be naming my daughter after it haha 🤣

YoniAndGuy · 05/01/2021 12:03

Honestly, Sienna and Georgia are both a bit naff.

Astrid and Zara are definitely far classier names tbh, whichever you pick.

Tweetypietwo · 06/01/2021 14:25

Zara
Georgia
Sienna
Astrid - I'm probably in the minority but I really don't get the hype with this name? It sounds quite harsh to me.

JosieB68 · 06/01/2021 14:30

Really like Georgia
Zara is quite nice
Not a fan of Astrid of Sienna at all.

theyoungishman · 06/01/2021 14:35

Zara. Then you can buy all her clothes from there and not faff about with ironing on name labels.
Also like Zana for a similar but quirky name

AliceinBunniland · 06/01/2021 14:56

I don't like Astrid

I like Sienna, Zara and Georgia but I think they are all quite popular at the moment (if that's a factor for you)

Zara is my favourite

pinacollama · 06/01/2021 16:15

Astrid, I’ve not known any and it’s lovely.

Wheresmykimchi · 06/01/2021 16:23

Sienna or Zara.

Going against the grain , I don't like Astrid
