Have you ever seen a baby or child and thought they didn’t suit their name?

Just wondering really!

Sometimes I can’t explain it but I see kids and the parents reveal the name and I just don’t feel like the children suit the name?

I can’t explain why but yes I’m just wondering have any of you felt like this?

I can't think of any occasions that spring to mind myself. But twice i've been told I didn't look like a justineboober* but looked like a "Zoe" instead. Two different occasions, two different people, both said they thought I looked like a Zoe.

My friend consistently gets called by the same wrong name by so many different people. It's a running joke now.

I've been called Ruth by several different people, at different times in my life, so I must look like a Ruth!🤷🏻‍♀️😂

The 5 year old I know called Derek. It just seems so wrong.

I went to ballet class in the 80s with a tubby bespectacled ginger Scottish girl called Biarritz. I have no idea what her parents were thinking. Her mum insisted that everyone used her full name, rather than Ria, which is what she introduced herself as.

One of the most attractive men I knew before I got married was called Trevor, which I can't see as a sexy name at all.

A boy at ds school called Douglas.

When DS was a baby we were in hospital next to an Ian, similar age so he'd be 5ish now. Not sure Ian would suit anyone under 40

I knew a girl whose name was not actually a name but a portmanteau of two words - imagine something like Moonshinebird. Her mother was about 16 when she was born. She herself was quiet, mousy and just tried to avoid attention but her name made it much harder. That name wouldn't have suited anyone but someone else might have managed to carry it off a bit and she really didn't. I always felt so sorry for her.

I met a rather stout Poppy

I know a Claire that should definitely be called Laura. I have no idea why but I just really think she looks like a Laura and have to check myself before I say her name every time.

I'm going to bear this in mind if we have another DC. If we have a girl I love Savannah or Autumn but I bet those are names that only suit certain children.

Funnily enough a friend of my husband just changed her baby's name from Max to George, . She's an absolute nutter though. She also returned a puppy she'd bought because she didn't like it.

I knew a little ‘Grace’ who was built like the proverbial barn door, had a solid, round, ruddy face, and threw frequent epic tantrums.

Many years ago I "worked with " a girl called mystery

The only mystery about her was her ability to keep a job, as she never turned up 3/4 of the time
