Harper Rose or Amelia Poppy?

Mumtobeee2020 · 15/12/2020 00:45

Can’t choose between these two names for our daughter due soon!! Please help!

💛 Harper Rose
🧡 Amelia Poppy

Worried Amelia may be too popular but also worry with Harper being less traditional...
What are others thoughts? :)

Both are lovely names..I think Harper Rose possibly sounds better, but Amelia Poppy is very cute!

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 15/12/2020 00:54

IMO it’s best not to have the same sound at the end of first name and beginning of middle name as they run together and are awkward to say.

On that basis my vote goes to Amelia Poppy.

Mid30s · 15/12/2020 01:14

My name is very similar to Harper Rose. Everyone compliments me on my name. I wouldn't worry about the first and middle names starting and ending with R because people rarely say both names together. Great choice.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/12/2020 02:00

Amelia Poppy of the two. Athough Amelia is currently very popular, it is a classic name and suits all ages - where as Harper is very trendy and will likely date (plus every other girl has Rose as a middle name too, so there will be lots of Harper Rose's born in the last decade).

Anystarinthesky · 15/12/2020 02:12

Amelia, but I prefer Rose with it.

birdseedpie · 15/12/2020 02:14

Amelia Rose was my first thought too.

alexdgr8 · 15/12/2020 02:27

Amelia Rose
or
Rose Amelia
the other names sound silly.

August20 · 15/12/2020 02:41

Amelia Poppy.

But I really like Amelia Rose if you were willing to combine your name choices.

HappyChristmasTreeRex · 15/12/2020 05:28

Amelia Rose sounds better to me. I'm weird though, Poppy makes me think of pop pops, which is what my toddler calls it when she farts!Grin

bengalcat · 15/12/2020 05:31

I’d say Amelia Rose

pilates · 15/12/2020 05:52

Amelia Rose flows better

Harper is awful, sorry

ParadiseLaundry · 15/12/2020 06:19

Harper Rose is beautiful. I think Amelia is quite common now (as in popular).

naturalyoghurtmuncher · 15/12/2020 06:35

Neither but Amelia Poppy is okay

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 15/12/2020 07:18

I also agree that Amelia Rose would be an even better option, if that works for you, OP.

Chilldonaldchill · 15/12/2020 07:26

Amelia Poppy.

Rose is the ultimate filler MN.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 15/12/2020 07:39

I like Harper, but it's going to be the Kylie or Tiffany of its day - I.e a name that instantly dates you.

SionnachRua · 15/12/2020 07:40

Amelia Poppy. Can't stand Harper and Rose is very filler-y. Poppy will be a bit different from her peers, which is nice.

Jelly4444 · 15/12/2020 07:55

I love Amelia Rose and the name Poppy is just so cute.

Harper is not my cuppa- sorry!! I also think
it will become one of "those" names. To harp means to go on about something in an annoying way in my neck of the woods. Harper = annoying!

whoami24601 · 15/12/2020 07:58

I'm liking the Amelia Rose love on this thread- that's DD8's name Grin

Kanaloa · 15/12/2020 07:59

Both nice, but I like Amelia Poppy the best.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 15/12/2020 07:59

Neither, Harper is a surname to me and I don't like what Amelia means medically.
Poppy Rose would be my pick using those names.

MsTSwift · 15/12/2020 08:03

Amelia is so overused it’s dull now. Anything but that

PillowPrincess · 15/12/2020 08:05

Poppy Rose

Bupkiss · 15/12/2020 08:06

Rose.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 15/12/2020 08:14

I'm a doctor and I had to remind myself of the meaning. It's incredibly rare, so I wouldn't let that put you off.
