Lucy, Jessica or Robyn?

My favourite is Lucy.

His favorite is Jessica.

Robyn is an ok one. Maybe a middle name if it doesn't grow. Also like Iris as a middle name.

Robyn!!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 27/11/2020 20:23

DD and I would like to vote for Lucy and not vote for jessica

Pudding01 · 27/11/2020 20:26

@Boxofpinot 😂😂 Love it! I remember you liked Lucy Iris.

I did a thread around March time (before we started trying) and Lucy smashed it over Isobel, Jessica and Sophie. But suppose I didn't offer Robyn then!

Don't like Robyn at all.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 27/11/2020 20:37

Jessica is by far my fave of your 3 choices (Shakespearean, pretty and feminine). I like Jecca for a nn, but Jess is okay too. I love both Isobel and Iris even more though. Lucy I find a bit too cute sounding, and Robyn on a girl isn't my taste, sorry.

Boxofpinot · 27/11/2020 20:42

Oh no, don't throw isobel in the mix... One of my daughters is Isabel!! 😂 😂 😂 😂
I would have considered Lucy for both my girls but with our surname it sounded like a nursery rhyme, think Lucy locket 🤣🤣 and I absolutely love iris, shame my husband didn't feel the same, therefore you must name her Lucy iris just for me!! 😂 😂 😂

You're probably not going to like my vote but....

I was going to say Robyn - but not with Erin! It's really hard to say Erin and Robyn together!

So - I vote Lucy!

Oh if they push their luck enough it is VERY easy to bellow "Erin and Robyn" together :D

Tested - extensively. The bedroom is still a tip.

Sometimesonly · 27/11/2020 20:54

@DominaShantotto I bow to your superior knowledge on this matter and withdraw my vote for Lucy and recast it for Robyn!

Really appreciate the humour in this thread 😂🥂

Lucy is lovely. Jessica too. Neither is heavily used. Robyn is awful, in my opinion may be unfairly influenced by previous experience with child of that name at work in a school

merlotormalbec · 27/11/2020 21:11

Lucy
Robyn
Jessica

orangeblosssom · 27/11/2020 21:18

Lucy and Jessica are very 80's/ old fashioned.

Not sure about Robyn either but better than the other two.

Unsureif · 27/11/2020 21:32

Lucy.

I know a couple primary aged. A couple secondary aged.

LemonsYellow · 27/11/2020 21:44

I really, really dislike Robyn.
Lucy and Jessica are both nice. I love Iris.

BurtonHouse · 27/11/2020 22:49

Love, love, love Robyn. I wanted to use it for Dd but wasn't allowed. Still bitter.

ellentree · 27/11/2020 22:54

Lucy is a beautiful name. Robyn is ok. Don't like Jessica (but like Jess!).

ellentree · 27/11/2020 22:57

Also Erin is a lovely but Robyn is too matchy for my liking with the same 'in' sound ending and both with the R sound too.

I prefer Sophie to Lucy though if that's still in the running, Erin and Sophie are fab names.

jackstini · 27/11/2020 23:06

Robyn or Jessica
Love Iris too

Have never been keen on Lucy
I can't say it without saying 'lastic' after it or 'juicy' before it. I blame my mum for putting that in my head

I know
1 x Robyn, age 28 (& a Robina, age 65)
4 Jessicas - 38, 25, 12 & 11
4 x Lucy/Lucie - 48, 46, 15 & 12

Pudding01 · 27/11/2020 23:13

Can I ask the people that called either of the names dated, would you class Erin as dated too? Robyn likers called Lucy & Jessica dated and visa versa...

I won't be offended (unless you're offensive 😂), just trying to work out whether it matters to me if my vibe is older school names.

I have a Robyn Joy ... she's 6, I'm ao pleased she isn't part of the Isla, Mia, Evie brigade! I'm always complimented on her name and she suits it perfectly! We call her Bobbie, Robs, Baby Bird .... 💕

blankiesandunicorns · 27/11/2020 23:19

I have a Robyn Jessica! And we don't know any other Robyns, she is 7.
I still love it as much as I did the day she was born. I think it's beautiful but I'm bias ☺️
Nicknames for her include Bobby and Roo

DramaAlpaca · 27/11/2020 23:21

My favourite is Lucy, then Jessica.

I don't like Robyn much.

Actually...I do find Erin to be in a similar genre to Lucy and Jessica! All nice names, not exactly to my taste, but nice names.

On balance, although Robyn is my favourite, I think I'd go with Lucy. I think @Boxofpinot has got to me with her sneaky, subliminal messaging somehow...

Was that offensive? What if I called you an arsehole or something? I'd go with Lucy you twat! How's that Grin?

Merename · 27/11/2020 23:29

Iris is my very fave. To me, that is an old school name, and lovelier than any of the others by a mile. Robyn next, and I’m sorry for me Lucy and Jessica are painfully dull names. Not dated or vintage in any interesting way, just bland and even simpering. Sorry that’s a bit harsh but I’m too tired to be more diplomatic!
