Mimi for short

Always loved mimi as a nickname/short name. Any ideas on longer versions - not quite enough of name on it's own, for me!

By the way, I have a Mimi. It’s not short for anything, it’s her full name. Although the name is a little one, its impact is big! I think quite a few people end up using it because it’s a bit more exciting than the real name. You might as well use a really thrilling full name if Mimi is going to be a NN. What about Marguerite? You could probably get away with anything starting with M, to be honest.

I know one who has it as a full name and one Mia who ends up being Mi or Mimi, I think its really cute!

I think it works for any name that has the 'me' sound within it e.g. Emilia, Amy, Mia, Naomi, Noeme, Jamie/Jaime.

It's interesting to see so many posts suggesting it as a nickname for Miriam. The Miriams I know go by Miri or Mim if they don't use their full name.

I didn't know there were so many names that had this nickname. I have it with certain people and my name's Michelle.

The Mimi I know is short for Maia - and she's a sweetheart.

I know a Mimi who’s full name is Camilla

I have a Miranda and I don't think Mimi is an obvious abbreviation at all. Infinitely preferable to "Mandy" which she was called at school though. The two Mimis I know are both Jemima. One has a sister Imogen (also suggested here) who has always been Midge.

Any name you like beginning with M with Noemi as a middle name (or Naomi)
