Names that are oldish, similar to Hazel

I thought me and DP had both agreed on Hazel. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste but I don’t know any Hazels and I like that it’s an older name as opposed to more ‘modern’ names.

DP likes the name Autumn and April, although she won’t be born in Autumn so I’ve said no, and she’d only be born in April if I was overdue (due 31st March). Although I’ve ruled it out due to our surname. I know they’re not necessarily old names.

I like Mabel but it’s too common with people I know so I’ve had to rule that out.

Thank you!

From the same programme, this ruined the name Ruby for me (again upstairs downstairs) but in my head it was a name linked with her

What about Marjorie, Margie as a nickname? I don’t like Hazel at all. It just seems frumpy.

Lovely name. Met a baby called that way back about 20 years ago and I thought it was really sweet — only one I’ve ever met. Never so popular that it’s become out of date or stale, either
