Breaking the almost unanimous view, I'd say Paige just because Esme is very popular at the moment.

Katgolde · 19/10/2020 16:11

Esme

or Waynetta

MissBPotter · 19/10/2020 16:14

Paige is terrible, I know of a baby Paige and it just seems a really silly name for a lovely baby. Esme is nice, but please not esmae!

Husky12 · 19/10/2020 18:00

Thanks for all your replies now to convince DH!

Esme.

I really don't like Paige. Sorry. It's just got to be one of the blandest names out there.

celestebellman · 19/10/2020 18:02

Paige is not a very attractive name, sound or meaning.
Esme is lovely.

Audreyseyebrows · 19/10/2020 18:03

Paige is quite dull.

sibbys · 19/10/2020 18:09

Esme. Really beautiful name

Kimblebee19 · 19/10/2020 18:26

Going against the grain I really like Paige, and not a fan of Esme personally.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 19/10/2020 18:49

Esme is such a lovely name!

notalwaysalondoner · 19/10/2020 19:03

Esme - it's a lovely name, Paige was very popular in late 90s/early 00s and is a bit outdated in my opinion.

Plus I have a lovely lovely friend called Esme.

Husky12 · 19/10/2020 19:34

@Katgolde

Esme

or Waynetta

Waynetta is a serious contender....

Esme is a lovely name.

loops9 · 19/10/2020 19:53

Esme

Thistlegirl4 · 19/10/2020 20:00

Esme is much nicer.

CatteStreet · 19/10/2020 20:27

If it's between the two of them, then Esme by a mile, but I'm not hugely keen on either - both quite faddy/big potential to date.

DramaAlpaca · 19/10/2020 20:29

Esme wouldn't be one of my favourite names but it's way nicer than Paige.

MuserOwl · 19/10/2020 20:29

I am coming around to liking Paige

It's a form of margaret. Basically American accented English for the Irish short form of Margaret. Peig.

Esme is ok, don't dislike it but Paige has grown on me since you posted your thread.

FallonCarringtonWannabe · 19/10/2020 20:37

@Redact

Wane
I love Esmé.

I prefer Wane to paige

Viviennemary · 19/10/2020 20:40

Paige is just awful. So Esme.

Scoobidoo · 19/10/2020 20:42

Esme

Paige sounds ugly and American

MikeUniformMike · 19/10/2020 20:52

Both are nice enough but I wouldn't choose either. Esme because of spelling issues (Esme/Esmee/Esmae/Ezmay) and Paige because around here it would sound like Pige.

Creamteafatty · 19/10/2020 23:02

Such a strong aversion to Paige which is a shame. Both are fine-nice.

dottiedaisee · 20/10/2020 00:24

Esme ...my daughter is 27 she absolutely loves her name....please make sure that her name is pronounced properly. Esme hates her name being pronounced Esmay!!

dottiedaisee · 20/10/2020 00:27

@MissBPotter

Paige is terrible, I know of a baby Paige and it just seems a really silly name for a lovely baby. Esme is nice, but please not esmae!
I have an Esme and I absolutely cringe when people refer to her as Esmay !!
