Slightly different - but not much. Someone I know got two kittens and said their two young children could chose the names. They ended up with;
Princess - not so bad
and
Happy Christmas - Hmm

5 year old - “Poo Poo Head”

3 year old - “HAHAHAHA Poo poo”

Both now giggling and saying “Baby Poo Poo” over and over.

Flappingflamingo · 19/08/2020 10:31

11 Yr old daughter - girl-felicity or celia
Boy would be jack, took a really long time to think of that one. And then Jason as an addition.
10 Yr old daughter--girl- Charlotte or skylar and boy also jack

When I was pregnant with the now 11 Yr old, my son was 3 nearly 4 and a wanted to call his sister pencil or door.
When pregnant with the 10yrold he wanted to call her grace Isabel, the 11 year old is Isabel Grace 🤣🤣🤣

If my DS (3.5) had his way our newborn DD would be Peppa T-Rex Grandma

MojoJojo71 · 19/08/2020 11:48

7yo DD says Nathan for a boy and Anya for a girl (her best friends from school)

Her tastes have obviously changed because when she was younger she told me she was going to call my grandchild either Flash or Starshine 😆

DefinitelyMaybeBaby · 19/08/2020 13:43

4 year old - "Jackson like my stick insect at nursery, or maybe Eye Patch"
2 year old - "A BEE!"

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 19/08/2020 17:14

@propertealady - I like the name 'xylophone'. It's no worse than some of the names people use today and it has a nice ring to it! Grin

Crankley · 19/08/2020 18:35

Having seen some absolutely bonkers names suggested on here over the years, all of these seem quite reasonable. Grin

Scruffyoak · 19/08/2020 18:36

Elsa

bridgetreilly · 19/08/2020 19:18

Rosie.

For a boy or a girl.

PoodleMoth · 19/08/2020 19:42

My 1 year old says Coco

finallychangedmyusername · 19/08/2020 22:21

DS1 wanted to call his brother "Mummy".

Wouldn't have been too confusing...! HmmGrin

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 19/08/2020 23:04

Ds had a few ideas for dd
Cheese
Sausage
Pizza
I didn't stick with his theme in the end.

Dd goes for very descriptive names.
Her toys are brown bear, blue dog, pink bunny...

So a new baby would probably be pink baby, boy baby, girl baby or nudie rudie baby

bluesoup1 · 20/08/2020 00:24

No kids here but asked my nieces and nephew

Niece8- Taylor for a girl (Swift fan)
Rider for a boy- paw patrol

Niece5- Ivy (best friends name) and rolo (cats name)

Nephew 6- Charlie for a boy or for a girl.

Enough4me · 20/08/2020 00:34

My DD named her DS when he was born, but only as she picked a classic name that I liked. They laugh about it now, she picked the name as a boy with the name in her preschool was friendly. My DS jokes with her that she named him after her first boyfriend.

She liked Bella-May for a girl, which I would never have gone with in a million years.

eatsleepbreastfeedrepeat · 20/08/2020 09:05

Toast, she must be really enjoying her breakfast this morning.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 20/08/2020 10:00

Update: we've had two new suggestions…

Sashimi is so cute Grin

Cbeebiesrehab · 20/08/2020 11:11

Rosie or Robbie-cheers Peppa Pig. Could be much worse🤷🏻‍♀️

Pearsapiece · 20/08/2020 11:26

2 year old ds suggested Toast for dc2. I'm currently pregnant and hoping he goes off the idea of name it Toast!

Minibea · 20/08/2020 11:42

Currently pregnant and have a 3yo DD so this has come up recently... her suggestion was “Mumzit” which cracked me. Have no idea where it came from, but suspect it means she will hate her little bro/sis 😂

SimonJT · 20/08/2020 12:06

My son (5) suggested

For a boy Chase (paw patrol) or Peter (rabbit)
For a girl Gaffy (?) or Tavi.

He is now sorting what the new baby can touch, erm, you got the wrong end of the stick mate, but crack on if it keeps you busy.

EuphieKat · 21/08/2020 01:04

DD 10 says Paris and Aayla Rey

TreesoftheField · 22/08/2020 10:50

Rainbow
