Baby boy is due in 5 weeks. My partner has his heart set on Rory but yesterday I came across the name Ronnie on a baby names list, I really like it.
Which do you prefer?

I wouldn't use the Ruari spelling, as I am more familiar with Ruairi, and there's also Ruaidhrí Ruaidhrígh Raidhrígh Ruaraidh, so it becomes too complicated and it'll be misspelt.

Rory

Ranald is... ok.
Ronnie is just too old gangster geezer
Which probably means every second toddler will be Ronnie soon

Glad it's helped 😃❤️

Rory by a million miles, but I prefer the Irish spelling of Ruari

Not keen on either. Rory is hard to say if you struggle with R sounds. Ronnie is just vile - I agree that it sounds full-on East End crim....

I prefer Rory, it was on my list for DH and made it to the final 4.

I don't have any negative associations with the name Ronnie but it just doesn't appeal to my taste.

Rory :) Lovely name

Love Rory. Ronnie still feels a bit gangster-ish to me and maybe also dated in the wrong way.

Ronnie is an old man's name, so Rory.
