What would you DC be called?

My partner had her heart set on Scarlett for upcoming DD but I couldn’t be swayed no matter how hard I tried to like the name.

For a boy - Leo. I used to be a nanny for a boy called Leo who is by far the most, difficult? child I’ve ever come across in 31 years of living so I just couldn’t shake it 😅

DH was desperate to call his DD Boudicca!

Thankfully, we don't have DC together.

DP really wanted to name our DD Elizabeth after his late mother. Elizabeth is a lovely name but her death still haunts him so I didnt think it would be right. Named her Isabelle which is close enough.

Perseus for a boy,

Cynthia for a girl (it was his mum's name. I said we could use it as a middle name)

Tyrion and Hades.
Needless to say, neither of our dc have these names.

Merlyn for DS1 (DS1 is very grateful I vetoed this!)

DP likes Cornelius for a boy. It's a hard no from me.

Martha or Henry. Nothing too shocking here...

Axl or Axel or however you spell it. And it would not have suited him at all.

Phoenix! For a boy or a girl! Hate it, way too out there for me.
And he liked Xavier too, so I agreed, let him have it as a middle name.
And whoever said Lucas, that's my son's name! Not named after SW as neither of us are fans, named because that's what he asked to be called in a weird psychic dream my mum had a few days before I found out I was pregnant! 🤷‍♀️

DP would have liked Michael for DS. It was a big NO from me. ( A lot of men in DP's family have been called Michael and tbh I find the whole family less than pleasant).
DP's girl's name choice was Leilani. I didn't need to acknowledge that suggestion with a reply.

Guy, and absolutely no interest in finding a girl name

Abigail for a girl - I didn't like it but he suggested it a few times

We didn't want to find out the sex until the baby was born. But we agreed on both first and middle names for both a boy and a girl. We decided that middle names would be after our closest friends. So if we had a boy his middle name would be my husbands closest friends first name. If we had a girl her middle name would be my closest friends first name. And first names we agreed on both a boys and a girls name. So it was never something we didn't agree on.

My DH chose the children's names and I agreed because they were good ones but ironically he has nicknames for them that bear no resemblance to their lovely names at all. And everyone uses those names now.

My DH was only half joking about calling DC1 Zeus. He came up with something better in the end.

Left to him, DD would have been Skye or Michaela. She is neither.
