Names:
Penelope
Felicity
Imogen
Fleur
Georgina
Erin
Aila

I'm Scottish and may like a Scottish name if anyone has any ideas? Besides Aila, I haven't found many I like!
Otherwise based on this list, what other names might I like?

Penelope: love! An underused classic imo. Elegant.
Felicity: also love! It means happiness so sounds joyful to me.
Imogen: not keen. Hard-sounding to me.
Fleur: not too keen on this either. There are much nicer French names or Flora is a sweet name if you like the flower theme.
Georgina: a lovely name. Also under used. Again, sounds elegant to me.
Erin: don't like. Very popular where I am. Getting bored with it quite honestly.
Aila: I don't mind it although makes me think of ailing which isn't really a positive connotation.
I don't know about scottish names but I like Penelope and Felicity and also like Vivenne and Celeste which I feel have similar vibes.

Mostly pretty - but as pp has already said I read ‘Aila’ and thought ‘ailing’, like poorly. Ayla is lovely though and it’s never made me think that, it’s just the odd spelling! Also Imogen and in particular Erin are very popular at the moment so If anticipate multiples in her school year.

Penelope : my mum, and a throwback trend that will be looked back on with hilarity
Felicity : okay but too long and fussy for me personally
Imogen : gorgeous
Fleur : lovely
Aila: very pretty
Georgina : fabulous, my favourite of the lot. Timeless and classic and have only ever met one at school 30 years ago. Love Georgie as a shortening.

Bubbletrouble43 · 18/07/2020 19:44

I love Penelope, Felicity & Imogen. Classy, feminine names. Others in that vein: Emmeline
Marianne
Phoebe
Clara

I’m not keen on Fleur. How about Fern?

Erin and Aila are OK. What about:

Aine (Awn-ya)
Esther
Orla

mintich · 18/07/2020 20:45

I do like Mhairi but I live in England so worry if she would be forever correcting people

Penelope - don't get the love for it
Felicity - too long and prissy
Imogen - not keen but it's ok
Fleur - like it
Georgina - like it
Erin - nothingy and harsh sounding but ok
Aila - Nothingy

MikeUniformMike · 19/07/2020 20:25

How about Flora? It's lovely.

HalfBloodPrincess · 19/07/2020 22:58

I have a friend from Inverness who has a daughter called Mirren - I dont know if its Scottish as such but it sounds strong and feminine.

mintich · 20/07/2020 08:56

Just put Flora to my husband who said " like the spread?" 🙄

Breagha and neaghan are 2 scottish girl names (pronounced braya and nee-in) might be a struggle if you live in England tho.
Or you could go with an island theme like isla, skye etc
