Hi ladies,

I really really love the name Annie but for various reasons can't use it 😭

Apart from Annabel are there any other names I could use officially but have Annie day to day?

Or what other names may I like just as much?

Thank you x

Aniela
It's pronounced like ann-yelah
Then she could be Ani on a day to day basis

I know you said you can't use Annie but your looking for a name that means you can use Annie for short...so why not just call her Annie?

My friend’s daughter is Julianna but goes by Annie

Nixen · 30/06/2020 23:35

If she’ll be Annie day to day then just use Annie? I don’t understand what reason there is to not put Annie on the birth certificate if she’s then going to be called Annie anyway?

Carandi · 01/07/2020 07:08

My DD is Annika and although I mostly call her by her full name (and love it) I do occasionally call her Annie.

daisypond · 01/07/2020 07:42

If you really can’t use it, pick something else different. You seem to be determined to call her Annie at least informally, so you are in fact going to use it.
Katie, Rosie, Polly, Sally, Molly have a similar feel but are from different source names.

Enough4me · 01/07/2020 07:51

Dannie / Annie (Danuta)
Janine

sageandroses · 01/07/2020 11:01

If you can't use it because a friend or family member has called their daughter Annabel/Annie, then it's really not much different to have a different full name but still call her Annie.

If they're the sort of people to be pissed off at calling her the same name, they're still going to be pissed off if you announce 'this is Anna to be known as Annie!'
