After some ideas for my own list.

Names on the shortlist that we didn't use:
Bethany
Elinor
Felicity
Keziah

The names we chose were in the top 100 for England at the time, one has risen in popularity more than the other.

Definitely no more children for me and to name my actual children could be outing but I think the girls' name that got away is probably Melissa. I love it's soft sounds and the honey bee associations in Greek mythology. Middle name would be Shakespearean.

My favourite names are all classics: some currently very popular, others less so. Too 20 are probably these (which include the names I picked for my daughters)

Caroline
Victoria
Elizabeth
Charlotte
Catherine
Sarah
Emily
Helen(a)
Rebecca
Olivia

When I was younger (around 13-14) i came up with a name that I loved and decided it would definitely be used in the future. I had never heard it before and didn’t even know how to spell it, until one day I was off school sick and watching This Morning (as you do!) there was a girl on there who was doing gymnastics and she had the name I invented.

Liarna was how it was spelt on TV but I’m not keen on how it looks. It was pronounced Lee-are-ner

I have still never met anyone irl with that name.

Other names I like are Laurel (current fav) and Thea

I also like Lydia, although I still see that as more of a middle aged name.

MojoJojo71 · 27/06/2020 16:08

Genevieve
Madeleine
Emmeline
Felicity
Verity
Clementine
Clemency
Hermione

I have two dds but won't list them as they are quiet uncommon names (there were 10 born the same year as Dd1 with her name)

However if I were to have a third daughter my shortlist would definitely be:

Jocelyn
Madeline /Madeleine
Olive
Bryony

Fifthtimelucky · 27/06/2020 16:12

Devlesko · 27/06/2020 16:28

Phillipa
Felicity
Hebe

CaffiSaliMali · 27/06/2020 17:05

Esyllt is my favourite girls name, but it won't work in England due to the letter Ll. So - Alys, Eira, Mari, Morwenna or Tesni.

Or

Lyra, Rosa or Juliet.

I also really like Louisa but have a 'no feminine version of a male name' rule so can't use it.

nevergoingoutagain · 27/06/2020 18:03

Frances (Frankie)
Esther
Josephine (Josie)
Also on my lists were
Charlotte (lottie)
Constance (Connie)
