Can i ask you ladies for your thoughts on the name Amy?

I love it! It was on my list for DD. Very underused now as well so she won't be one of many.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/06/2020 16:10

I love it. My sister is Amy (well Aimee) and I was always jealous that she got the prettier name.

Houseworkavoider · 06/06/2020 16:11

Love it! Cute for a baby and lovely for an adult too.

CuppaZa · 06/06/2020 16:16

I really don’t like it, but I’m very certain I’ll be in the minority

likeamother · 06/06/2020 16:20

I love it too! It was on my list (the Aimee spelling though I like both). The only downside is the multiple spellings, but that applies to Katie, Claire, Isabel etc. too so just one of those things!

Wynston · 06/06/2020 16:24

Its really nice op can only think of one and she is lovely.
Its a simple pretty name.

LotusClover · 06/06/2020 16:46

I love it, though I prefer the Aimee spelling.

DramaAlpaca · 06/06/2020 16:48

I adore it.

For me it has to be the Amy spelling - simple, timeless and pretty. Aimee is a frilly version of a lovely, unfussy name.

SoberCurious · 06/06/2020 16:50

Love it.
Both spellings are nice.

SoberCurious · 06/06/2020 16:51

Aimee is french so maybe a bit more chic?
Or maybe a but try hard if you are not french...?

namechangeformeagain · 06/06/2020 16:52

I like it! I know an Aymi, which is a more unusual spelling. Amy and Aimee are probably safer to use though.

GRW · 06/06/2020 16:54

I like it and prefer the Amy spelling.

Mopani · 06/06/2020 16:54

Love the name Amy. Very cute for a baby and suits an adult as well. Timeless.

Greenkit · 06/06/2020 16:55

My dd is Amy (nickname Tink) ❤ so I love it

Litthefirealready · 06/06/2020 17:16

I love it - prefer the spelling Amy

Shaunthesheep34 · 06/06/2020 17:17

I love it, I prefer the Aimie spelling though.

PintOfGin · 06/06/2020 17:19

I like the sound of it but as a 90's baby there were so many Amys in my years at school , at least 2/3 in every class so It is a bit dated to me as it seemed to be an 'it' name along with the Katies, Gemma, Hannah, Kirsty ect.

WinWinnieTheWay · 06/06/2020 17:22

It's a bit dated as there were tonnes in the 70's and 80's.

It is pretty though.

Enderthedragon · 06/06/2020 17:23

Yes, I really like it. It's timeless and a lovely name. It's ever so slightly on the dull/ubiquitous side, but I think part of that is because it's so timeless actually, it has stood the test of time. Not explaining myself very well there, but overall I like it Smile

AcrobaticCardigan · 06/06/2020 17:25

I think it’s a bit boring & very dated (as in 80s/90s).

bridgetreilly · 06/06/2020 17:25

I would pronounce Aimee differently (Ay-may). I think Amy is actually much prettier than Aimee.

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/06/2020 17:31

Love it, I prefer the spelling Aimee though as it just looks more complete to me and I prefer a longer name

SallyWD · 06/06/2020 17:39

Classic, timeless.

Ingridla · 06/06/2020 17:45

Don't like

AnnaSW1 · 06/06/2020 17:45

I like it
