Jaxon nn Jax would be cute
Rex is also nice (on Modern Family Mitch and Cam called their baby boy Rexford nn Rex which I liked, or you could do Rexley?)
Caston (no x but for some reason I find it similar)
Max
Felix
Dexter
Baxter
Fox (rising in popularity)
Lux
I also like Huxley / Hux so go for it if you do too

IdentifyasTired · 01/06/2020 16:08

Tbh it just makes me think about that YouTube family.
Also bizarrely reminds me of Huxtable which was the surname in that Bill Cosby show.
Sorry. You did ask.

tellmesomethingreal · 01/06/2020 16:20

Really love lux and fox but wanted a longer name that can be shortened really. I've never heard of Huxley pig so no idea what that is?!

Absolutely love it! Go for it!

Ariela · 03/06/2020 08:38

Noooo He'll get called Huxley Pig at school. Bound to be a new improved version of the popular animated TV series out. It was based on some books by Rodney Peppé and was around late 80s/early 90s when my friend's boy was little. Had to suffer it a lot.

Just to add you can find some on You Tube

CandyLeBonBon · 03/06/2020 08:43

I love Baxter

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 03/06/2020 09:21

It might have a bit of a ‘moment’ but I very much doubt it will ever go top 20, or even top 100. In the current data the highest surname-style boys’ name is Harrison at #34. Jaxon is #46 and Jackson is #80.

userabcname · 03/06/2020 09:25

I like it - I don't know any. I also like Axel.

Funtcase95 · 03/06/2020 09:27

Makes me think of Huxley Motorsport but that's because I use them regularly for my drifter. I did have it on my boys list though, however we had a girl. I like it!

Leopardprintcurtains · 03/06/2020 09:29

I quite like the name Dexter despite the vigilante serial killer connotations

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 03/06/2020 09:33

As in 'Huxley's pig' ?

Oh no, it's a child's name. But it's not a man's name, don't saddle the poor did with that for life. It can't even be shortened to anything decent.

june2007 · 03/06/2020 09:40

Don,t choose Lux thats worse then Huxley. (Yep I am named after a soap.)

captainraymondholt · 03/06/2020 09:43

I think it will be one of those names that is never insanely popular but could increase in popularity a bit because it's a very modern surnamey sounding sort of name. I could definitely imagine more than one in a class. I think it sounds awful though.

theotherfossilsister · 03/06/2020 10:10

Huckleberry?

Typohere · 03/06/2020 10:15

When I think of that name I immediately think of the YouTuber who 'rehomed' a child that she adopted from China.

It's strange how a name holds a meaning for many. For that reason I personally wouldn't use it. Although obviously some people do follow what 'influencer's' on YouTube use and so will.

Maduixa · 03/06/2020 10:29

Sawollya: What were that Youtuber's other children called?

I was just reading this - the siblings are Nakova, Jaka (girls), Radley, and Onyx (boys).

Onyx looks cool, but I imagine would be hard for children to pronounce.

sawollya · 03/06/2020 16:54

All sound like precription medications Shock

sawollya · 03/06/2020 16:56

The soap is the latin for light.
So lux and rex have a bit more gravitas than say knox, lennox or huxley. But that is jmo of course

Pudding01 · 03/06/2020 21:52

I know a dog called Huxley. Didn't really like it on him either...

If you like X sound, how about:

Alexander / Xander / Alex
Xavier
Maximilian / Maximus / Max
Rex
Jackson (although it's deemed as chavvy in some places)

bridgetreilly · 03/06/2020 22:00

No, I don't think it's too popular or will become so.

I just don't like it much.

tellmesomethingreal · 04/06/2020 12:11

This is so difficult! I do love the name and I'm due very soon so need to decide but it's hard. I love Hux and Huck but HATE Lee so would hate that nickname.

I can't use some of the great names mentioned as others in family have so no to dexter or max or Alex sadly.

I really don't think people will link to the pig as I had never heard of it (mid 30s) the YouTube couple does bother me though as it's so current and heartbreaking.

I like lux and fox and rex but ultimately don't feel like they sound like 'full' names somehow?

Maddox

tellmesomethingreal · 04/06/2020 12:23

I do love Maddox but what nicknames could you have?

OP posts:
Greentea93 · 04/06/2020 12:37

Not sure, madx?? Not every child needs a nickname though
My child’s nickname isn’t anything related to her name

tellmesomethingreal · 04/06/2020 12:44

That's true, it could be anything! I'm a big believer in nicknames being important social cues that signal belonging and bonding etc though so want something that can be shortened! Maybe Dax as a nn? Why are baby names so hard!?
