really like it - what does everyone think? I've heard minnie can be a word for a girl's parts but Minna is less nicknamey and can still be Minnie which is so sweet, or Mimi?

I’ve not heard it before. I prefer Minnie tbh - I think it’s lovely

I know a Mina - pronounced Meena - do you mean Minna to rhyme with Sinner?

Blursula - Minnie is much more a nickname whereas Minna is a real name and something more serious to have - slightly prefer the sound of Minnie but she might prefer Minna for more formal things etc , it's less little girly and more sophisticated

I've never come across Minna - it sounds Cornish though. What about Morwenna?

Mina is short for Whilemina in Dracula, i seem to remember, but never come across Minna (pr. Minner) before - at first hearing it sounds a bit more like an occupation than a name - eg miner, farmer, etc, but i daresay it would be fine once it was actually attached to a child, just like most names.

I used to know a Minna - she would be over 70 now. I don’t mind it but think I prefer Minka which is a variant of the same name. I know a young Minka and she rocks her unusual name.

In German, "Minna" means "skivvy" or "maid" (as in a domestic servant). Short for Wilhelmine, as someone said above - apparently it was a common name for maids back in the day.

I know a Minna and it's a lovely name. No-one has any difficulty with it.

Minka is also short for Wilhelmine but tends to be used for cats in German :)

My great grandma was named Mini, it suited her so much. I'd probably have used it as a middle name if I'd had a girl.

Honest opinions I don't like it. It seems more like you're trying to find a name so you can call her Minnie.
