What do you think of Lupin for a boy?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm also reminded of 'The Diary of a Nobody' by George and Weedon Grossmith. At least the Lupin in that was using his middle name and, yes,he was a twerp . His first name was William. Very funny book though.
Ridiculous name for a boy...may as well call him Rose or Daisy.

RoseMartha · 14/04/2020 22:21

No

BackforGood · 14/04/2020 22:21

Awful.
What is it with all these people wanting to call their poor children ridiculous things at the moment ?

lustforlife · 14/04/2020 22:23

I like it! But then again I am calling my daughter Luna Grin

Pickles89 · 14/04/2020 22:24

@JellyfishandShells

He is such a twat that kid! The 'road rage' incident, where he hits a random guy's horse and makes it rear as he drives by, I mean what a total bellend!!

pinkblanchmange · 14/04/2020 22:25

Horrific

confusednortherner · 14/04/2020 22:28

I'm sorry but it's not really that good for a girl, please don't do it to your son!

Enough4me · 14/04/2020 22:30

Lupus is an awful disorder and it sounds like that.

BrooHaHa · 14/04/2020 22:31

Nah. Loony, loopy Lupin. And lupus connections. And I'd wonder if you didn't realise that Lupin's first name was Remus.

Bumfuzzled · 14/04/2020 22:32

Flipping heck, I’m all for unusual names but Lupin...just no, no, no.

NotStayingIn · 14/04/2020 22:35

Harry Potter and lupus both spring to mind. SoI think it’s either a bit naff, try hard to different or just too bizarrely similar to a horrible illness.

123Dancewithme · 14/04/2020 23:41

Yes, Harry Potter and lupus.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 14/04/2020 23:43

I have lupins growing in my garden. They have pretty pink, purple and sometimes white flowers. I would not use the word for a boy's name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/04/2020 10:21

Thats a no then lol

MrsP2015 · 15/04/2020 13:38

What other names do you like? Are you going for L names?

dellacucina · 15/04/2020 13:40

No. Sorry.

PeraltasWife · 15/04/2020 13:49

No sounds like a disease..makes me think of Lupus

Blursula · 15/04/2020 14:48

I love it but I imagine it more on a girl than a boy if I’m honest

Finnemoo · 15/04/2020 17:22

Surprised it’s got such a negative reaction. I quite like it actually!

I know a Lewin, which sounds quite similar?

whatausername · 15/04/2020 18:05

What do I think of it?

That it's not very kind. I really wouldn't do that your child.

whatausername · 15/04/2020 18:07

Ahh I should have RTFT! Sorry OP, I see you replied in the thread so now it looks like I'm piling on. Have you started a new thread for ideas? Maybe we could help you find something to your tastes but less...difficult for a child to wear

Zinniasout · 15/04/2020 18:08

I don't like names with the 'loo' sound in them. It invites teasing and rhymes with poo and means toilet etc. There are so many wonderful names why choose one that has a high chance of causing your child grief?

midsomermurderess · 15/04/2020 19:39

It makes me think of old-fashioned boy nicknames like Bunny.

87Callista · 15/04/2020 19:40

I'm not keen

careworkerandproud · 15/04/2020 21:31

Awful...sorry
