Naomi as it's more unusual for a baby born now. Also Elodie may be shortened to Ellie and lots of Ellie's around.

Jessikka · 15/04/2020 21:35

Elodie! I wanted this name myself but I have a family member with a name very similar so it wouldn't work!
Love that name

Pinkypink · 16/04/2020 12:59

Elodie
I pronounce it Ella-dee

LionKingOrTigerKing · 16/04/2020 13:00

Elodie

Mucklowe · 16/04/2020 13:50

Naomi!

Namechangeapril20 · 16/04/2020 13:54

Elodie

Whatsyourflava · 16/04/2020 15:00

Definitely Elodie!!
Gorgeous name
Naomi too confusing with all the different pronunciations - it would drive me bonkers

If not Elodie - how about Sadie or Marnie? Similar feel

Ineedanewusername · 22/04/2020 21:05

Love Naomi! Would pronounce as nay oh me

nevernotstruggling · 22/04/2020 21:17

I have a 7 year old Elodie. It's like Melody. Exh says it with too much emphasis on the O. Drives me nuts.

We have met one other ever.

Pixielou16 · 23/04/2020 09:36

Elodie is stunning. Naomi is quite boring to me having known a few.

babynamelover · 23/04/2020 10:44

I prefer Naomi just because I think it ages better 😊

WendyDarling888 · 23/04/2020 10:54

Naomi 100%, miles nicer than Elodie.

Thefaceofboe · 23/04/2020 11:18

Elodie 100% for me. I can’t imagine a baby Naomi

Whatsyourflava · 23/04/2020 11:31

The 2 Naomi’s I know get annoyed with pronunciation issues and get called “Nay” for short, like a horse

I love Elodie

Iwalkinmyclothing · 23/04/2020 11:33

Naomi, have always loved this name.

Nothing against Elodie which is a nice name also, but Naomi is one of my favourites.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 23/04/2020 11:34

I really like Elodie. I also like Naomi but not as much

MySonIsAlsoNamedBort · 23/04/2020 11:45

Anyone I've ever known called Naomi has been teased because it's "I moan" backwards.

Malvinaaa81 · 23/04/2020 11:57

Elodie is to my mind horrid.

She'd have a lifetime of spelling it out, and the name being confused or even changed to Melody.

nevernotstruggling · 23/04/2020 12:09

@Malvinaaa81 did you mean to be so rude?

AmelieTaylor · 23/04/2020 12:11

Elodie. I love it!!
Naomi - not keen personally

Joffrey · 23/04/2020 12:14

I prefer Elodie. The only one I know if in her 30s and half french.

WendyDarling888 · 24/04/2020 12:03

nevernotstruggling

Everyone has a preference regarding names, they are subjective. This is a baby name forum and @Malvinaaa81 has said it is horrid to her mind, so in her opinion.

Her message wasn't particularly rude when the whole point of name posts is to give your opinion.

Whatsyourflava · 24/04/2020 12:19

@Malvinaaa81 an “Elodie” these days is very unlikely to have a lifetime of correcting to Melody seen as Elodie is much higher up the charts than Melody now (Melody is going extinct!). I actually think it will be the Melody’s of the next generation that’ll likely get mistaken for Elodie’s!!

@WendyDarling888 yes I appreciate everyone has different opinions.
