I really really don’t like it. I actually much prefer ‘Love’ on its own as a name, weirdly, as I don’t normally like trendy or unusual names - but I recently watched season 2 of You on Netflix and really warmed to the name Love! Loveday is horrible though - sorry! It sounds like a surname. I literally had no idea it was even a name until I saw it on a recent MN board.

I want to like it but I can’t. Agree would be a very nice middle name. It just sounds too much like a random noun being used as a name, like “Monday” or “Lovelorn”.

I sort of like it, but it doesn’t pass my would I like to be named it test, so it’s a no from me.

My general rule is that if it is a name considered 'pretty' by Elinor M Brent-Dyer in her Chalet School books, avoid.

Quite apart from that, I agree with a pp who says it suggests things like 'lovesick' and 'lovelorn', or even 'lovebite'. Grin

At first I thought "wtf" but it's grown on me. If the child grows up to be a really confident, quirky, arty type she could carry it off. If she's more shy and just wants to fit in she might hate it though.

I know a few Lovedays as well as people who have it as a middle name. I quite like it! Think it is probably better as a middle name though.

I actually really like it. Only ever heard it in the Rosamund Pilcher book! I used to think Loveday Carey-Lewis was a brilliant name!

It's not an Old English name, it's a Cornish one.

There was a sweetshop where I grew up called ‘Lovedays’ and it was the family surname, so sounds more of a surname to me.

Loveday Perowne in the Chalet School books was a lacklustre head girl, so I wouldn't choose it! Grin
