Which spelling of Graham/Graeme do you prefer?

Just that, which spelling do you like best? I would think Graham is the more common? Would he forever have to spell it if the other was used?

I say them differently - Grey-um and Graime.
I prefer Graham, and suspect that people might try to spell Graeme as Grahamme - I used to work with a Graeme and the dept's secretary used to spell it like that.

I suppose it depends where you live. I'm in Scotland and know more Graemes than Grahams, and I would always ask which spelling whenever I need to write it.

Both pronounced the same. Graeme is the scottish spelling.

Definitely prefer Greame, there's one in my family and we call him greemee as a nickname. It's very cute!

Outside of Scotland, I'd say Graham - simply because that is the normal spelling unless you have Scottish heritage.
In Scotland, more likely to be Graeme, I'd have thought.

I'd pronounce them the same. Graham is marginally better.

Depends on where you are - I have a Celtic background and prefer Graeme. Think if you are in England Graeme will seem odd though, and vice versa if in Scotland. I know lots of Graeme’s and Grahams - all pronounced the same

IM in scotland where the spelling is Graeme, however I have an English relative and it’s spelt Graham both are pronounced exactly the same,

I know a few, the youngest being a teen.
Graeme always looks like it should be said "greem" somehow.
But I do know Italian people pronounce graham as a single syllable grahm (gr-arm)

Thanks for the replies. DH is scottish and scottish surname but we live in England. DC1 has a traditional scottish name.
I still can't decide if I even like the name 🤷‍♀️

I'd go for Graeme, probably because I'm Scottish. Not overly keen on it though, there are lots of much nicer Scottish boys names.

It's awful, whichever the spelling.
