Would you go straight for Annie or Anna with NN Annie? I love it but I would do the latter personally.

youngestisapsycho · 30/12/2019 23:54

I love it... my shortlist 17 yrs ago was Annie, Sally or Stella... Dh hated all of them!

Jambo1 · 30/12/2019 23:56

Love it.

Ahitsallover · 30/12/2019 23:57

I love Annie, it's a beautiful name Smile

ArseDarkly · 31/12/2019 00:04

It's lovely and works well at any age

RomaineCalm · 31/12/2019 00:09

I like it but my preference would be Anneliese shortened to Annie.

AHintOfStyle · 31/12/2019 00:11

Love it!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/12/2019 00:18

I don't know why you're having doubts. It's a fab name.

eveshopper · 31/12/2019 00:22

I like it. I know of a few that are under 16!

Don't name her one thing and call her another though, that's weird and annoying. Just name her Annie if you want to call her Annie.

Gorgeous. Do it. Just Annie, nothing else.

Whoops75 · 31/12/2019 00:28

Thi k it needs a two part second name or else it sounds odd.

Annie (any) Fraser

Annie (any) O Connor

candycane22 · 31/12/2019 00:29

Love it. As is (dont feel you need to extend into something silly so you can have a nickname)

Ihaveamind · 31/12/2019 00:33

I would do Anne nickname Annie.
Mainly because then she could identify with "Anne with an E" when she's older 😂
Either way it's a nice name.
Best wishes for your pregnancy.

passthebucky · 31/12/2019 00:36

Love Annie I had a great aunt named Annie and she was just the sweetest little thing, so when ever o hear it I have lovely memories of her. She was one of 5 sisters called Edie , Millie, rosie, Lilly, such gorgeous names.

Daffodil55 · 31/12/2019 00:38

Another one here who likes the name Annie. We have one in the family, not shortened or a slant on the real name, she was christened Annie as far as I am aware.

(We also have a Kate and her mother is sick of people referring to her as Katie or saying "is it short for Kathleen or Katherine" because her birth certificate states it is Kate!)

Why would someone who had been called Annie their entire life suddenly want to be 'Anne with an E'?

Astronica · 31/12/2019 04:43

I think it's lovely.

Grandmi · 31/12/2019 04:48

Beautiful name! My 3 week old granddaughter has it for her second name.

Poorolddaddypig · 31/12/2019 06:42

I adore Annie and I’d have used it in a second but it’s really common in my husbands country (spelt differently) so he said no Sad

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 31/12/2019 06:50

I know two annies and both of them are horrible! So it's a no from me.

Robs20 · 31/12/2019 06:57

Love it! Currently 20 weeks and planning to call my baby Annie :)

Ihaveamind · 31/12/2019 08:04

eveshopper
Their entire life until they were 7/8!
"Anne with an e" is a character in a children's book.
Anne of Green Gables.
Children like being the same as the heroine/hero in the stories they enjoy.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 31/12/2019 08:15

@Ihaveamind I wanted to change my name to "Anne with an E" at pretty much that age!

I like Annie and know one in her thirties who was christened thus; it suits her and she's always known as Annie.
