I love the name but i am worried it will not be very well socially received. Have you ever met one?

I've met one! A younger sibling of DDs nursery friend. He must be about 3 now. I thought it was a lovely name, though he was the first I've met.

Go for it.

Astronica · 21/11/2019 09:44

I like it.

Marcipex · 21/11/2019 09:50

I’ve read a book with a Zephyr in it, but she was female.
I quite like Zeph though.

JoJoSM2 · 21/11/2019 09:55

It sounds cool.

DecomposingDurannie · 21/11/2019 10:00

I know somebody with a (female) horse called Zephyr so I wouldn't.... the name itself originates from the (male) Greek god of the west wind so not a female name originally....

DecomposingDurannie · 21/11/2019 10:01

But I do like the name!

ilovetofu · 21/11/2019 10:10

I think its fine
Are you or your DP Greek?

curiousp4rent · 21/11/2019 10:52

Yes. he says it is not used much as a name there though

Zephyros is a slightly more used Greek name (not common though!)

viques · 21/11/2019 11:26

The name Zephyr would cause juvenile sniggering in my family. As children we were banned from shouting out "fart alert" so in stead used to shout out "zephyr" as we found a dictionary definition of it as "a warm wind from the south".

Omashu · 21/11/2019 12:16

I know a Zephyr, live it 🙂

Omashu · 21/11/2019 12:16

Ugh I meant love it

Slappadabass · 21/11/2019 12:22

Love it. Reminds me of red hot chili peppers!

BercowsFestiveFlamingo · 21/11/2019 13:42

My dad had a Ford Zephyr car back in the day.

CravingCheese · 21/11/2019 14:15

Love it.

PsychosonicCindy · 21/11/2019 14:18

Love it!

Peachbubble · 21/11/2019 15:49

I like it too

daisypond · 21/11/2019 16:01

It’s OK, yes. Not my style but fine.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 21/11/2019 16:08

I LOVE it! I actually love it so much I’m stealing it for my future lists. And you don’t have to be Greek to use the name of a Greek god Hmm

maslinpan · 21/11/2019 16:10

The only Zephyr I know is the monkey in the Babar the Elephant books.

MikeUniformMike · 21/11/2019 16:33

Zephaniah might be less ' out there'

Singlenotsingle · 21/11/2019 16:37

A Zephyr is a little breeze. Not really appropriate for a boy! Storm maybe? Hurricane? (Hurricane Smith). Typhoon? (Ty for short).

daisypond · 21/11/2019 16:42

Zephyr was God of the West Wind.

HappyDinosaur · 21/11/2019 16:46

As others have said, I think the bullying aspect is just too much.
