Girls names that travel/age well?!

My husband and I have discussed girls names but nothing is really jumping out, we have a son who has an Irish name but to be honest there’s only a few Irish names for girls I like (Niamh and Maeve) and other family members have chosen them for their children already. I would actually like a name that travels well, suits someone of any age, a little bit uncommon but not faddy or out there.
So far these are the names my husband and I sort of agree on;

Nina
Molly
Francesca
Cara
Renée
Heidi

Names I like but he doesn’t;

Annie
Serena
Carina
Cora

Names he likes and I’m not overly fussed on;

Poppy
Abbie

Any ideas?!

Like Anna and Eva but maybe a bit too popular where I live
Love Polly, sounds more grown up and continental than Molly,
Any more continental names like Polly?
Favourite is Nina but sounds very harsh with an Irish accent!

Thomasina is my mums name and very unusual, that’s why I thought of Nina as a nickname, she doesn’t like her name though and wasn’t even given a middle name as back up!

Nina is very lovely. Do it!

Anna is great, much better than Annie.

I love Edith and also Tamsin, which is close to Thomasina.

As pp suggested there is Francesca and Leonora. My current favourites which might meet what you are looking for are Leonie, Carenia, Paola, or Natalia.

Nina - great
Molly - nice but Polly is more sassy
Francesca - not keen - nice but too frilly
Cara - nice
Renée - nice but you will get Ren-ay, Run-ay and Reeny
Heidi - nice

Heidi or Polly

Shadow1234 · 09/11/2019 10:29

Francesca is lovely, and has the option for various nicknames - Frances/Fran/Frankie/Cesca..

Nancy
Naomi
Esme
Anya
Freya
Lois
Natasha/Tasha
Elise
Estelle
Elodie
Elayna
Lorna
Lauren
Amelie
Isla

NotaWagon · 09/11/2019 10:29

I suggest Anya, it's just a bit of a twist on a very normal classic name that travels well.
Susie, Beth, Louisa, Maggie, Eliza, they all seem like that, and because Poppy is what Americans call their granddad i suggest Libby which is a bit like Abbie and Poppy but nicer than both.

Ellmau · 09/11/2019 10:52

Mara

GrumpyHoonMain · 09/11/2019 11:00

I suggest Irish / Celtic names that overlap with Arabic, Israeli, Persian, and Hindi names for the most travelability.

Eg Amena, Arya, Arryn, Ameya, Rosheen, Nisha / Naoise, Kiana, Soraya, Shay (I think?)

We have an Isobel Maeve, if we were to have another girl we've agreed on Ivy Mabel.

A boy Macsen Arthur ( I'm welsh, it's the welsh version of Maximus.)

NotaWagon · 09/11/2019 11:18

Oh, Macsen is a good name! Never heard of it, but Welsh ancestry and I feel like ''oh yeh, of course'' it's sort of obvious without being common

Ivy Mabel is lovely but it competes with Isobel Maeve. Same initials too. The Maeve seems incomplete now. Don't do that to it! I love Mabel but Maeve and Mabel in the same family makes Maeve seem overshadowed. Ivy Sibeal (shibale) Or Ivy Sybil?

fernandoanddenise · 09/11/2019 11:20

How about Erin ?

Stella8686 · 09/11/2019 11:30

Lucinda
Arrabella
Justine
Christina
Hayden
Ellen

@NotaWagon love Ivy Sybil... as silly as it sounds, I just loved the name Isobel from Downton Abbey, my partner is half Scottish so both liked the spelling.

We liked violet but partner's surname would mean it sound like violently Blush
