Just that really- middle name will probably be Elisabeth after her grandma but am not too bothered about which ‘flows’ better as her middle name will he used so rarely Grin

My husband loved Bonnie when I was pregnant but it reminded me of the dog from Blue Peter when I was growing up! We went with Audrey, but if we have another girl in the future Margot would definitely be on my list

VenusClapTrap · 21/09/2019 21:05

Margot.

Joeybee · 21/09/2019 21:07

Margot goes better with Elizabeth. Also Margot is a more 'full' name whereas Bonnie sounds more like a nickname for something else.
I do love Bonnie though, it's different, it's fun, it sounds vintage but is a name people are suddenly using again. What about Bronwyn, Bonita, Bernadette? With nickname Bonnie?

Grufallosfriends · 21/09/2019 21:14

Bonnie

I dot like Margot, especially pronounced Mar-gott.

AgeLikeWine · 21/09/2019 21:17

Bonnie sounds like a Labrador.

Margot is OK, but I can’t get the image of Penelope Keith out of my mind. Perhaps my age is showing....

Grasspigeons · 21/09/2019 21:20

Bonnie
I prefer margaret to margot. Im not a fan of margot to be honest.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/09/2019 21:21

Bonnie is gorgeous. I can’t stand Margot

MaudebeGonne · 21/09/2019 21:22

I have a Bonnie, and we do get a few people telling us that their Nan had a dog called Bonnie..... But they were usually quite good dogs, and they have happy memories, do not the worst association for people to make. Smile

The other advantages are that it is easy to spell and it is easily recognised but not wildly popular. Margot is very pretty too.

phoenixrosehere · 21/09/2019 21:26

Margot

The first thing that comes to mind whenI hear Bonnie is “ My bonnie flies over the ocean, my bonnie flies over the sea..”

Plus, I can only think of people calling her Bon-Bon as a nickname and that would annoy me. If that doesn’t annoy you, go for it.

BrexitBingoGenerator · 21/09/2019 21:27

People do realise that the ‘t’ in Margot is silent, don’t they?!

Love Margot (Mar-go)

BilboBercow · 21/09/2019 22:09

Bonnie isn't the name of an adult I'd take seriously (sorry Bonnies). Margot sounds classy and intelligent

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/09/2019 22:11

I love both

InsertFunnyUsername · 21/09/2019 22:11

Bonnie.

InsertFunnyUsername · 21/09/2019 22:12

But I really dislike Margot.

Chillisauceboss · 21/09/2019 22:12

I slightly prefer Margot but it's hugely popular at the moment so I'd go for Bonnie /) both good choices :)

QueefLatifah · 21/09/2019 22:13

BONNIE. Margot looks like maggot written down its all I see.
And spoken it’s like Margaret which is awful for a baby now.

Aprinceinapaupersgrave · 21/09/2019 22:15

I say Margot which tips the vote on here to Margot so far but only just.

user1493494961 · 21/09/2019 22:21

They seem quite different names to me. Margot is posh and Bonnie a bit twee.

Louisaouisa · 21/09/2019 23:24

Can I say neither? Sorry!

Gun to my head, Margot

Babymamamama · 21/09/2019 23:28

I love both. A lot. Why not wait till she’s born and see which she most looks like?

DramaAlpaca · 21/09/2019 23:28

I don't like either, but dislike Bonnie slightly less.

They are very different styles really, one is cutesy & the other quite harsh.

Tillygetsit · 21/09/2019 23:35

I'm afraid I'm not keen on either. Margot would just about tip it because it's more of an adult woman's name but not my taste. We're all different eh?!

mathanxiety · 21/09/2019 23:41

Love Bonnie.

Far prefer Margaret to Margot.
Margot is an Irish country and western singer, albeit spelled Margo, whose songs featured a lot of shout outs to various towns and hamlets her fans came from. I can't shake Irish C&W music of the 1970s out of my head when I hear the name.

Shadow1234 · 22/09/2019 00:23

Margot has a harsh tone to it (for me), so would choose Bonnie

SemperIdem · 22/09/2019 01:59

Margot by all the country miles.

Bonnie is a spaniel’s name. Connie instead?
