Baby no name!

Help me name my baby. She arrived last night, fully expecting a little baby boy Ted so a bit thrown at having to name a girl.

Thoughts:

Daisy (this was number one throughout pregnancy but just not sure if it's right now she's here)
Joni
Juno
Nancy

Short seems to be good. There's an L in the middle of our surname so anything with an L in the middle/end of the first name ends up a bit lalala.

DH would like if there was a literary or musical reference. I like flower names (but not the obvious Lily, Rose etc).

Why were you fully expecting a boy? Did they get it wrong at the scan?

I only like Juno from your girls list.

Congratulations by the way!

Primrose

Frith2013 · 15/09/2019 14:45

Daisy - a bit bovine
Joni - I’ve an irrational hatred of soppy cissy Joni Mitchell and her caterwauling so that’s a no from me.
Juno - ok
Nancy - slang for an effeminate man.

Thea? Could still call her Teddy if you were planning to use that as a nickname for Ted? Could choose Dorothea if DH wanted literary connection.

tigertruly · 15/09/2019 14:52

Theadora,
and call her Ted, Teddy, Thea, or Dora.

bridgetreilly · 15/09/2019 17:03

Nancy. Which has literary connections to Swallows and Amazons and also Nancy Mitford.

milliefiori · 15/09/2019 17:11

Juno is lovely.
Love PPs suggestion of Thea - gorgeous name and she could get Teddy as a nickname.
I prefer the spelling Joanie to Joni but it's a pretty name.
