Castiel Quinn
Malakai Torin

Nn Cass and Kai

We've come a long way from Balthazar and Theseus and they're never going to Jack and Henry level of normal.

Thoughts?

They’re properly rough.

@pepperpot99 ridiculous comment

It's curious that you have now started at least two separate threads on the topic of your kids' names. It's suggests a deep level of narcissism, frankly.

That's a strange conclusion ConfusedHmm

Ohyesiam · 03/09/2019 08:21

Nobodies business but yours.

Cbeebiesrehab · 03/09/2019 08:23

Pepper do you understand what the baby name forum is for?

I like the full versions but unfortunately the diminutives, especially together, sound very Rooney! And very different from your previous suggestions. Maybe keep one and change the one you are least set on? I dislike Kai far more than Cass if my opinions counts for anything.

SleepingStandingUp · 03/09/2019 14:59

They are so chavvy they make Wayne Rooney... names sound classy
Interesting point given the people also asking if I was naming them after Rooneys kids 😂😂 I guess that's a win for Kit and is the other one Klay??

Doesn't that apy to anyone who has more than one thread about themselves on the site tho? I'm not sure why two name threads makes me narcissistic but several about my neighbours, husband, job and best friends cousins wedding would all be ok...

Think if you like the names Cass and Kai then just go for tit without constructing more elaborate names around them? For a kid called Kai to actually have the first initial M will just confuse everyone.

Hellokitty135 · 03/09/2019 15:16

For a kid called Kai to actually have the first initial M will just confuse everyone.

But that's the case with lots of nicknames eg Kate (Catherine), Billy (William), Tilly (Mathilda), Liz (Elizabeth) etc

SinkGirl · 03/09/2019 15:23

Honestly, having twins means people treating you like freaks as it is - I used to dread leaving the house when they were babies. As they get older they’re often treated differently than singletons, especially if identical.

I know a lot of twin parents and had a conversation recently about names and everyone I spoke to with me typical names is really relieved that they toned it down with the names. I definitely am! There’s a couple of mums I know who picked really out there names for their twins and really regret it - they think it was twin pregnancy induced madness. Just beware.

Hellokitty135 · 03/09/2019 15:30

Why shouldn't you have an interesting name just because you're a twin?

I have always hated having a common top 10 1970s name. Being a twin makes it even more important to be uniquely identified imo.

SleepingStandingUp · 03/09/2019 17:49

they think it was twin pregnancy induced madness tbf that explains a lot of the last few months.

Singleton is Xavier, it would feel weird having Tom and Jack after him just to moderate other people's behaviour

Malaka means wanker in Greek.

Lavenderblues · 03/09/2019 23:16

I'd switch first and middle names around and call them Quinn and Torin.

MissHenty · 03/09/2019 23:51

Quinn and Torin nice, especially Quinn

I understand and respect that you want unusual names @SleepingStandingUp but do they have to be such convoluted hard to spell names. To me (and I only say this because you’ve asked for opinions), that’s a bit arrogant to expect teachers to have to keep writing out such convoluted names but that’s just my opinion and these are your twins.

I also thought of the Rooney’s pretty quickly so I think many will make that association

Cass rhymes with gas if that matters to you at all

Pinkstulips · 04/09/2019 08:31

Another vote for Quinn and Torin.

whatausername · 04/09/2019 08:50

Castiel and Torin are cool.

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 04/09/2019 09:09

Quinn and Torin or Torin and Malachi (spelt properly please, malakai is nasty) would be my votes rather than your first choices.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/09/2019 09:54

I'm sure they're convoluted names to spell tho. I'm sure if I was pish and wanted Ptolemy or Persephone which are surely much more convoluted with silent letters and funny pronunciations, it wouldn't be arrogant.
Ido love Persephone tho 😂😂

Posh people tend to go for Harry and Olivia and Oscar, top 10 type names but I see your point.
I just think your twins will forever be spelling out their names. But again your children. You’d hate the names I like, we’re all different

What do you think about Quinn and Torin? Or names like that that are shorter and easier to spell?

MissHenty · 04/09/2019 10:13

Sorry meant to tag you @SleepingStandingUp

SleepingStandingUp · 04/09/2019 12:20

I'm not sold enough on Quinn and DH not enough in Torin to use as first names
