The parents were stoned or they live in Brighton. Or both.

😂😂😂

Tillygetsit · 27/07/2019 00:00

I know a little girl who's about 3 called Fawn. It suits her and she has a sister called Blossom. I personally prefer Fawn.

Derbee · 27/07/2019 04:02

Honestly, I’d assume the parents smoke a lot of weed, and the kids are a bit grubby and unruly/undisciplined

LikeDolphinsCanSwin · 27/07/2019 04:21

The parents were stoned or they live in Brighton. Or both.

Yep, that sums it up.

I really wouldn’t want to go through life called Fable.

CoffeeRunner · 27/07/2019 04:30

Fawn is fine. I knew a couple who called their baby DD Fawn in the mid 90’s.

Fable I think is the worst, but none are hideous. Me being me, I prefer them to some of the old lady names that are popular at the moment.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 27/07/2019 04:43

I'd think their parents were in a drumming circle.

BillywilliamV · 27/07/2019 05:28

If you can be sure of having whispy, ethereal, fairy like girlies -fine!

These names would not be any use for a herd of heffalumps!

CampfireZen · 27/07/2019 07:52

"Very normal names where I’m from!"

Am intrigued, TheJoxter...

IdentifyasTired · 27/07/2019 10:12

Not stoners and they don't live in Brighton. More countryside hippie types. Sort of nature hippies. Smallholding, rare breed sheep, tumble down house, trying to love sustainably.
I kind of like it!

Live sustainably. Not love.

CampfireZen
Very hippy dippy Cotswold town full of wealthy hippies who send their kids to expensive Steiner schools and live in fancy eco houses. Kids called things like River, Soul, Snowdrop, etc

Namechangedonceagain · 27/07/2019 16:05

I like Meadow, Pixie, Fable, Moon, Fawn AND Clover. But I'm a bit of a hippy

icannotremember · 27/07/2019 16:08

I'd think they were probably from a fairly privileged family. The ones you see on Grand Designs who are all "Julia has been at home with the children since 2007 and I work 3 hours a week giving spiritual massage and we have a budget of £1.5 million".

31RueCambon · 27/07/2019 16:12

On paper a bit hippy.

But can imagine it working.

I have known a clover, a storm,both lovely.

Fawn is not nice though. I know it's a dear but Fiadh is nicer. I think of Fawning over somebody in an obsequious way.

31RueCambon · 27/07/2019 16:14

Also fable is like a warning tale so....not crazy about it.

IdentifyasTired · 27/07/2019 17:40

Ok. So it seems Fable is the least favoured on this thread.
Anyone got any other hippie woo type names they could suggest?

OP posts:
Owlbert · 27/07/2019 18:12

I like them! Always had a soft spot for the name Pixie!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 27/07/2019 18:15

They’re the paints you’d find on a Dulux colour chart for a preteens’ bedroom

TheGirlWhoLived · 27/07/2019 18:21

Head on over to the most unusual names thread. Lots of ‘hippy woo’ going on.
Things like leaf, oak, bodhi, bamboo, winter, river, archer, tree, rainbeau, storm(i), lucifer, bambi, tinkerbell, reign, sno, whind, Fyre, hillock, balonz

All the usuals

IsobelRae23 · 27/07/2019 18:30

I actually really like the names. I wanted ‘different’ for my dc, but their ddad didn’t agree. So we went mainstream. I admit I do see ‘unusual names’ and have a little prang of regret. I often say to dc, how would you feel if you had been called ‘X’ and mostly they say they would have preferred it, however there are the odd few, that have made them look at me as if I’m mad.

ChelseaCat · 28/07/2019 15:39

All f ridiculous

Lllot5 · 28/07/2019 15:47

Too try hard pot smoking hippies who don’t think of the poor little sods going through life with ridiculous names.
Ok for pets not children.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 28/07/2019 16:34

I love Meadow Raven, and Fable Moon!!

There's a place for hippy chic names. They're a genre in their own right.

I see nothing wrong with any of them. There's a difference between chavy 'yoonique names' and deliberately boho chic names.

Love them.

CrackOn · 28/07/2019 16:55

Isn't Fable Moon a bit too much like 'Sailor Moon'?

VoyageInTheDark · 28/07/2019 17:03

They sound like characters in a YA novel
