I really like this name and love the shortening of Elsie. Just wanted to know what other peoples honest opinion is as I’d rather not know what friends/family think yet!

Congratulations! Anyone who says anything negative will soon get over it as they get used to it being your daughter's name instead of just a name (I say this as someone whose MIL hated our second DD's name but doesn't even remember hating it now!)
