Sorry.... I couldn’t think of a title that hadn’t been done / anyone would find interesting Grin Grin

Somehow we’ve gone from not being able to find a name we agree on, to having an actual shortlist !

What do you think? If you hate them all that’s really ok Grin

Juliet Josephine
Rosa Josephine
Matilda Josephine
Rory David
Henry David

They are all really nice names, you can't go wrong with any of them. My favourites are probably Rosa & Rory.

Anything would be better than Candida, though, even the name makes me itch Wink Grin

Penny4Thoughts · 10/06/2019 00:01

@DramaAlpaca I can’t believe how many hours it’s taken to get to having an agreed list - & several sites do genuinely suggest the name Candida ! Grin

Rosa Josephine abd Henry David - love them both!!

Divgirl2 · 10/06/2019 06:33

In terms of "flow" I prefer Henry David but as a standalone name Rory gets my vote (still with David as a middle name though).

Rosa Josephine as well from me!

IsolaPribby · 10/06/2019 06:35

Rosie Jo would be a cute nick name for Rosa Josephine!

Penny4Thoughts · 10/06/2019 09:47

David is due to a loss of someone close rather than chosen for the name itself - so how it flows doesn’t really matter

Thank you!

I almost choked on my tea when I read your title. Grin.

As regards your list, I love them all.
I think Rosa would be my favourite. It's beautiful.

I like Rory for a boy.

sunnyshines · 10/06/2019 09:51

Rory is very difficult to pronounce for people who struggle with their Rs!

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 10/06/2019 09:52

I came on to say- Thrush!!!!

Matilda Josephine
Henry David

But if you used Henry, would you use Harry as a NN, or stick to Henry?

Penny4Thoughts · 10/06/2019 10:30

@SnowyAlpsandPeaks I think just Henry actually. I like Hal Too but my hubby doesn’t.

Rosa is beautiful & I love the associations
But Juliet feels really unusual & maybe slightly quirky?

MollyHuaCha · 10/06/2019 13:32

Candida for me.

Nn will be Cancan.

Penny4Thoughts · 10/06/2019 14:10

@Mollyhuacha Grin I prefer Itchy as the nn

I love all of them (except Candida Wink)

Henry and Matilda would be my choices.

maimainomai · 10/06/2019 14:31

Candida: vaginal fungus.

Juliet Josephine: I like the JJ but Juliet is a bit soft / weak imo. Julia would great imo.
Rosa Josephine: beautiful.
Matilda Josephine: very nice.

Rory David: it's OK.
Henry David: nice but imo very boring.

Fulltimemummy85 · 10/06/2019 18:40

Love them all!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 10/06/2019 18:49

Rory or Juliet

formerbabe · 10/06/2019 18:54

Henry and Rosa are the nicest imo.

Sophronia · 10/06/2019 22:42

Matilda and Henry.

Penny4Thoughts · 11/06/2019 18:51

Thank you all

I like them all apart from Juliet Josephine.

a) Josephine is nicer than Juliet which is a rather dull overused name.
b) They sound odd together so if you want Juliet I’d change the middle name - Rosa or Matilda would be better.

Penny4Thoughts · 11/06/2019 19:58

@Tatianalarina Josephine is a family name although another could be Alice.
I’m not sure I like the ‘ine’ ending enough to use as a first name.

OP posts:
Penny4Thoughts · 11/06/2019 20:01

@TatianaLarina although I’m a little surprised you think Juliet overused - there have only been a handful a year for decades - less than 0.01%..... is it more popular where you live? I was worried it was too obscure & unusual as I tend to go for more mainstream choices (like the other 2).

OP posts:
TatianaLarina · 11/06/2019 20:16

Just because it’s not currently popular as a children’s name doesn’t make it obscure. It’s a very common name among my generation and above - I know loads of Julias and Juliets.

Penny4Thoughts · 11/06/2019 20:47

@TatianaLarina oh yes of course - but it hasn’t been even made it in to the top 100 going back as far as 1904 - so I was wondering if it was unusually common where you live?
