Interested on everyones thoughts, has anyone ever met a Fenton?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Fenton gives me a mental image of a creepy butler, I have no idea why. Sorry not very helpful.

myidentitymycrisis · 07/06/2019 10:44

You cannot do this to a your child. They will always be “FENTON ! For Christ’s sake” etc

SunshineOutdoors · 07/06/2019 10:50

That video (and just thinking about it) still makes me snigger our loud

Aquilla · 07/06/2019 10:50

Another for either Fenton the dog or my old PE teacher!

BebeBelge · 07/06/2019 10:53

Fenton the dog!!

Branleuse · 07/06/2019 10:54

FENTON!! Oh god

HairyMcWary · 07/06/2019 11:04

It just brings to mind Stoke-on-Trent which is not the most positive association for me!

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 07/06/2019 11:20

Yeah 🙋‍♀️For the dog here too😂

Tiptopj · 07/06/2019 11:21

How strange to see this- I googled the Fenton dog video last night as I hadn't seen it in ages then this thread comes up today

Littlebelina · 07/06/2019 11:24

Dog video sorry. Doesn't help that the only child I came across called Fenton was born just after the dog video (guessing\hoping that wasn't why they chose it)

I thought the same haha! It’s too surname-y to me so makes it sound like someone is summoning a servant!

TheHobbitMum · 07/06/2019 11:29

FEEENNNTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

PCohle · 07/06/2019 11:31

Yep, dog video Grin

CharminglyGawky · 07/06/2019 11:31

Runaway lab is my first though too, sorry!

But I'd probably only inwardly giggle the first few times I heard it and then it would become 'them' not the dog. But pretty much everyone would be thinking the same thing.

That video is a few years old though isn't it? By the time baby Fenton is school aged it surely won't be a thing anymore so any associations are more likely to be in the next few years when he will be very young and annoy you rather than him.

daisypond · 07/06/2019 11:32

I’ve never met one but it’s OK as a name. I didn’t think of the Richmond dog, though I know the video. I might assume it was Fintan, though.

Giraffeinabox · 07/06/2019 11:33

Ha thought of the dog video straight away!

GlitterPixie · 07/06/2019 11:33

FEEENTOOOON

BlueberryFool123 · 07/06/2019 11:34

Definite no from me. I had a Fenton’s procedure after DC1. If you call him Fenton don’t be surprised if at baby groups you get a grimace from such Mum who had a tear/episiotomy that went wrong...

RuffleCrow · 07/06/2019 11:34

Isn't there an Archers character with this name?

Toddlerteaplease · 07/06/2019 11:39

The dog video here too!

Toddlerteaplease · 07/06/2019 11:42

And I really wanted to call one of my cats Fentanyl.

onefatblackcat · 07/06/2019 11:44

Fiontan is much nicer

CaMePlaitPas · 07/06/2019 11:44

The dog vid

TheChineseChicken · 07/06/2019 11:45

Thanks for posting that video - gave me a good laugh!

bruffin · 07/06/2019 11:47

Worst performance parenting I have seen was a Fenton on a train from Cambridge.
We heard the name so many times , put me off but dont like surname names much any way.
