Are these names back in fashion?

Just wondering if we think these names are usable again. Eric already seems to be back in. I don't think any of these are inherently horrible words (except maybe Derek!)? What do we think - are any ok?

How can anyone look at a new baby & think Barry is the perfect name for him?!

Barry isn't much different to Bertie, Bobbie or any other currently common cutesy names.

I’ve come across two toddlers named Paul, one Dennis and two David’s in the last couple of months.

Bring it on! It's time for a change, every second boy round here is called Albert, Stanley or Wilfred, it's boring.

I think Simon Cowell made Eric an acceptable name, after naming his son Eric. Before then, I think it was largely considered as an old fashioned, and not retro-Cool.

Clive is a great name

I think I'm talking myself into Ian as an actual contender. I do love Malcolm too though. Not sure I can stomach Barry

Paul is lovely. I think it's always been quite popular.
Glen is nice
Others are awful.

Alan is a really popular polish name. I know 2 under 10.

I know loads young davids its really popular north london.

Hear eric and dennis about too. But more so since I moved back up north.

Not to disimular too philip but I heard a little girl called phylis other week. Thought it sounded quite cool.

I know of a surprising number of Alans that are all in one school!

@diddlediddle Yes! Ivo must be another reason I thought Ian sounded quite "now". I know of a couple of little Ivos born this year.

There's a Kenneth in Y6 at my school. He is one of the 'coolest' 11 year old boys I have ever come across and is really nice as well...
