I started a threat a while ago about Charlotte and Florence and since then I am finding myself adding to the list, so any help narrowing this down would be much appreciated!
Florence - like with nn Flossie or Flo, but concerned it's a bit faddy
Charlotte - lovely classic but very popular
Harriet - love with nicknames Harri or Hattie but concerned it could sound a bit frumpy or masculine?
Louisa - beautiful classic but might just get called Lou or Louise all the time which ruins the beauty of it

What do you all think? If you have the name yourself it would be helpful to hear if you like it! I often think names that people want as little girls are different to what we would like to be as adults. I want to find a name that works across all ages.

Louisa is the best from your list its less common than the others

PlatypusLeague · 12/05/2019 15:22

I like Louisa and Florence

Ex28 · 12/05/2019 16:15

Louisa definitely, I love it

pearldeodorant · 12/05/2019 16:16

Another vote for Louisa, it's beautiful

IncrediblySadToo · 12/05/2019 16:18

Charlotte or Harriet.

Not Louisa/Louise/Lou - it’s like a trip back to 1980.

jemmajen · 12/05/2019 16:23

you know what i say? ditch them all. you need a bit more creativity. those names are lush dont get me wrong but how about thinking of something original. for example my son is called franklin-stein after frankinstein the scientist from the olden days. so when people hear his name they be like yo ive heard that before and it gives my boy a good impression you hear me?

Clownfish123 · 12/05/2019 17:08

That's my one concern with Louisa. Louise does sound very 80's. I wonder if that's why it's so unused. It's in the 300's in the name stats!

Love Louisa. Charlotte is quite nice. Not keen on the others and really don’t like Hattie

NameChange30 · 12/05/2019 17:11

I love Florence
Wouldn't use Charlotte because of the princess
Louisa is a bit too 1980s for my liking (nice enough name though)
Dislike Harriet

Calixtine · 12/05/2019 17:25

Louisa by a mile! Beautiful and timeless.

JumpingFrogs · 12/05/2019 17:30

My Louisa has never been called Louise or Lou. Her friends all use her full name. At home we sometimes call her Lulu. She's a teenager now and the name has served her well. I love Harriet too.

abcriskringle · 12/05/2019 17:42

Louisa or Florence. Not keen on the other two really.

MsSquiz · 12/05/2019 17:42

Charlotte and Florence are my top 2 girls names. I love them both, and the nicknames that come with them

Harriet is quite rare at the moment, and I like the shortenings

Not keen on Louisa, it's a bit 80s. I'm also not a fan of the name Lou, the obviously nickname

Justkeeprollingalong · 12/05/2019 17:47

Florence it Harriett for me.

Justkeeprollingalong · 12/05/2019 17:47

Maybe just with one T 🤗

Justkeeprollingalong · 12/05/2019 17:48

Maybe or not it!

Firsttimemama2017 · 12/05/2019 17:54

Louisa or Charlotte

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/05/2019 17:59

Only shortening my Louisa gets is Isa (missing of the Lou) but it's a family nickname left over from toddler days when neither her or DD1 could pronounce the whole name. Never heard anything negative about the name.

I live Charlotte too.

missmouse101 · 12/05/2019 18:02

Louisa is best by far! Others very boring and popular.

Clownfish123 · 12/05/2019 18:49

Good to hear from some mums of Louisas! Do they like their names? I really like the nickname Isa, that's really cute, hadn't thought of that. Had heard of Weeza being used sometimes.

All are nice. I'd go for Louisa. It's very pretty. Not keen of Flo, Flossie or Harri, but Hattie is nice, as is Lottie.

Laramummy90 · 12/05/2019 19:11

Louisa

hewontstopshitting · 12/05/2019 19:12

Louisa definitely.

cheeserolls · 12/05/2019 19:37

Louisa. Or I love Eloise, another take on it.

MooBaaLaLaLa · 12/05/2019 20:14

Louisa is lovely and very refreshing in a sea of Florences etc.
